Acc Nifos Golf Hotel

Plzenska 215 A , Praha 5 - 151 11 Prague

This 2-star tourist-class hotel is situated further from the city centre in a residential area of Prague 5 in the west of the city, however within easy 20-min journey by public transport from the historical centre. Basic but clean and comfortable accommodation of excellent value suitable for budget travellers.***LOCATION*** The hotel is located about 8km from the city centre in the western part of the city. The area is mostly residential. The hotel lies near the access to D5 motorway and not very far from the airport (about 15 min by taxi). All important tourist areas can be easily reached within 20 mins by public transport. The tram stop is only 100m from the hotel, tram 9 goes directly to Wenceslas Square. After midnight there is a tram that departs from the city centre twice an hour straight to the hotel. The nearest metro - Andel - and the Andel shopping centre (largest shopping mall in Prague) are about 10 min journey by tram from the hotel. ***EXTERIOR*** The property is a 3-storey plain modern building with no interesting features. ***ROOMS*** Rooms are very plain and simple, but relatively spacious and comfortable. The furnishing is basic and old fashioned and the decor of both rooms and bathrooms is slightly dated and reflecting the style of the socialist period. However, the rooms are very clean and have all necessary amenities. ***RESTAURANTS &, BARS*** There is a restaurant on the 1st floor that serves international cuisine. A snack bar on the ground floor offers hot and cold beverages. Continental buffet breakfast is included.

Very convenient for tramway system. Excellent free parking with total security. Friendly group strumming guitar at low level threatened with police by over-zealous security officer.

This hotel has moderate prices and good offers. Danger of some noisy children groups exist. The hotel is rather old and the rooms are not in best condition but offer value for money. The restaurant in good but in the morning you must queue for the buffet breakfast. The Hotel is situated on a walking distance to the Praha Golf Course which can be open already in march when the weather is good. Connections the city centre by tram are excellent. Taxi from the airport costs 20-25 €.

The lacklustre external appearance of this establishment is complemented by the dark and chearless interior. The bathroom of this writer's room sported an interesting arragement of sanitary ware, most notable of which was the step-up sheet metal shower tray; combining noise with excercise. There is a small bar,but it does not serve the beers that the Czeckh Republic so famously brews, only one bottled variety being available. The food provided during our stay left much to be desired, even after making allowances for dietary differeces.

We decided to book this hotel while looking for the cheapest way to visit Prague, and for the price we weren't really expecting much. The staff at the front desk was curteous and spoke English well. The rooms were very basic - two twin beds pushed together, large built-in wardrobe, chair, window shelf, and small tv. I thought the beds were comfortable but since there's not much to them, I wouldn't recommend them for someone with back problems. The bathroom was clean though it looked dingy with the dim lighting and dark colored tiles. There was a shower only - no tub - and this was raised up on a platform. No problems with hot water. Breakfast was included at the hotel and was nothing special. It was very European - small hot dogs, lots of bread, lunch meat, and granola. We wouldn't have eaten it if it wasn't free. The location was great for us. Yes, it is out kind of in the middle of nowhere, but it's also right in between two tram stops. This made it very convenient to get into the downtown area and connect to the Metro. We liked that it wasn't centrally located because it made us stay out and experience the city without constantly stopping back at the room. If we did need to get back, it was no more than 20-25 min to get there from any other point in the city.

I took a party of 5 across for a trip to prague. Having booked this hotel and read the varied reviews l was a little worried about what to expect on arrival. As it happens i should not have worried at all. From the exterior it is of typical architecture for that period ( 1960's ), on entry you are greeted by more interior design of the afore mentioned period. Bar is nice and relaxed with a door opening to a patio. Hotel offers a safe deposit free of charge. Rooms are comfortable, with TVand en suite. Shower was of adequte operation, but would have been installed in the 60's. Breakfast is 'continental' type, sausage, cheese, boiled egg, cereal's and juice. There is a tram stop, a little over 100yrds from the entrance of the hotel, this takes you into the town centre, approx. 15min. Overall, l enjoyed my stay in this hotel. If i was ever in Prague again, and tied down to a budget, l would certainly return to this Hotel.

The rooms are big and clean, the breakfast it's a little boring but for the price I paid the hotel it's real good. It's true you can hear your neighbors voices but I was so tired that it doesn't bother me at all. The hotel it's out of town but it really doesn't matter because the tram in front of the hotel goes directly to downtown in aprox 25 min and it cames something like 1 tram at 5 minutes

Having seen the previous reviews, it was with some trepidation that a party of 7 of us visited this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised. While it is grim-looking from the outside, inside is more inviting. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and warm and the restaurant meals lovely. I also heard no sound from neighbouring rooms even though they were occupied. However, there are some downsides. The bathrooms are in need of updating - the showers seemed to possess a will of their own and some of the fixtures came away completely when touched. Another thing to watch for is the type of room you get. In our party, three couples who had booked double rooms found themselves in rooms with single beds which were positioned head-to-foot against one wall, while the person in the single room found herself in what appeared to be a double room (2 single beds next to each other albeit with a height difference of several centimetres between the two!). What we got was about right for the price and, if I were looking for a budget stay in Prague, I wouldn't dismiss the Golf Hotel out of hand.

I only stayed overnight, so can't tell much about daily services. Overall a bad hotel for the price. Far away from everything, dirty (I stayed in the "new" back building), unattractive. I would not stay there again.

Just got back from Prague and stayed at this hotel and we were pleasently surprised. Yes the decor is dated but the staff are friendly, the breakfast is a good way to start your day(ok it is a continental buffet type but all you can eat). The rooms are simple but are warm and the beds are comfortable with nice warm quilts. The bathroom is dated but there is always hot water and the shower will knock the hangover out of you as it is like a power shower(so beware). The tram stop is right at the bottom of the drive and turn left, tickets can be bought at the reception 20Kc and a 15-20 minute ride gets you into the centre the same for the return journey( will say though get off at the stop after Hotel Golf it's nearer). All in all this hotel did the job and yes if we go back to Prague again we would consider staying there again.

I have stayed in hotel Golf for Easter. As that was the hotel that agency picked for us we didn't know what to expect for such low price. Fortunately, we were pleasently suprised - the hotel was very good. We stayed in D wing (that our travel guide said it is renovated) which from the outside looks very poor, but the room was very good - nice new bathroom, very good heating (in April was very cold in Prague) and everything clean (cleaning was done every day). Breakfast wasn't anything special but for me room is the most important so I am satisfied. And one more thing, location of the hotel is very good, it is situated on the tram station so it is enough to sit in tram no.9 and in app. 15 minutes you are on the main street of Prague.
