We enjoyed six nights at this hotel and found it very good. The room was huge and very clean. Bathroom first class, hairdryer brilliant! Only fault as the weather was extremely hot we could of done with fan in bedroom, a ceiling fan would of been even better. Food and staff excellent and would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

My friend and I booked this hotel for a short break for ourselves and husbands and they we were not disappointed one bit when we arrived...thank goodness. This hotel was perfect, nice clean rooms, friendly staff, breakfast was adequate but we were able to fill up and overall for what we paid we were very pleased with the time spent at this hotel. The walk to centre was about 15 mins but trams just at end of the road and few nice bars and restaurant right beside the hotel which we frequented most nights. We would defo consider staying here again when visiting this beautiful city.

We stayed here for 4 nights in October 2007. Decided on this hotel because of all the brilliant reviews on here..... POSITIVES 1. Very clean: I'm obsessed with cleanliness, and had to check the sheets (and smelt them), the corners of the room and basically everywhere. It was perfect. 2. Location: Only takes about 15 minutes to walk to the square, it is in a quiet area and there is a tescos nearby. 3. Comfy bed, nice bathroom with hairdryer, bath, shower. 4. The door to the hotel is electrically operated so we felt very secure. 5. There are lots of leaflets at reception. NEGATIVES 1. Our 'queen size' bed which we booked was actually 2 singles pushed together. 2. We were on the top floor which was incredibly stuffy, even though we had the window wide open and a fan. This made me ill. 3. Breakfast was AWFUL. How anyone could call it nice is beyond me. It is a continental breakfast (which you would think is hard to mess up, but trust me, they succeeded!). The milk for the cereal was luke warm as were the yoghurts. The rolls and bread were hard and very chewy. Even the toast didn't taste nice. 4. After asking for an extra pillow in the morning, we still hadn't got it at 11 O'Clock that night and when we asked again we were told they had run out!

The Hotel Galileo was a fabulous hotel for a stay in Prague. It was in a quiet street so there was no noise at night. We travelled in a party of ten and all the rooms were well appointed. They were all large and spotlessly clean. It is a three star hotel but more like a four or five. The continental buffet breakfast in the morning was delicious with plenty of choice. The food was continuously replenished and there was adequate for everyone. I certainly would stay at this hotel again and unreservedly recommend it. It is about a mile walk to Wenceslas Square which is more like a street than a square and really quite insignificant as a tourist attraction. However it would interest the shoppers among you. The old town which is about half a mile further is the real gem of Prague. It is very picturesque and quite beautiful. The old buildings give this part of Prague a unique ambience. We went just before Christmas time and the old square was decorated with many lights and xmas stalls selling food, mulled wine and presents. What a great atmosphere. Dress up warm because the weather is cold. Our visit to Prague was for four nights and it is well worth going for that lengh of time. We will certainly return to this delightful city.

Interesting experience. Reserved a non-smoking room with a queen bed and ended up in a smoking room with two single beds. When I asked the Front Desk why this happened I was told that it was the busiest weekend of the year (English public holiday and boy do the come in droves) and that was the best they could do. So, someone else took precedence over me for whatever reason as I have confirmation of a queen bed, non-smoking. To be fair, there was only a slight smell in the room from cigarette smoke but it still irritated me that I was subject to change w/o notice and especially when it comes to smoking and its associated odours. As for the room, with two twin beds, it couldn't have been more than 10' X 12' in size, leaving little space for anything but the furniture. Both beds had to be pushed together to access the side tables. I can't imagine what two people would have done in such a small space. Early morning showers—up to 9am—were cold, at least on the busiest weekend of the year! Bathroom was large and comfortable. Large hallway but small closet space, again, how two people can be accommodated comfortably here is a hard to imagine, unless they are Lilliputians. Breakfast was good and the time allocated each day was very generous; 6:30-10:30 AM. Internet access is free and rarely busy. The facility is clean. No AC and Prague can get hot and humid in the summer. It is not a hotel; rather, it is more like a guest house/pension. It is situated about a five minute walk from the underground Metro and from there you can access most anywhere in the city. It is a good—nice paced—15 minute walk to the Museum which is at the top of Wenceslaus Square. Overall, I was disappointed but willing to make do given the lack of an alternative at such a late stage. I do not think I would return. The restaurant across the street, Le Pizzeria Romantica, has the best food in the city and at incredible prices. It was good to experience a residential neighbourhood but it wasn’t exactly quiet given the three bars/cafes that were on the same block, which was short. Noise level was medium and occasionally high at the front until early AM all weekend. This is not, as they claim, a four-star hotel, more like a three-star pension. You could do a lot worse, though, and it certainly gives you a taste of what the real Prague is about.

This is a really nice hotel. It's on a quite street. Rooms are large and fabulous. If visiting Prague again we would certainly come back to the Residence Galileo. Also if you're looking for a really good meal at a low cost visit the restaurant on the side street. I think it's called La Romantica Pizzeria or something like that. Fabulous!

I stay at the Hotel Galileo each time I'm in Prague. It's very affordable and the rooms have tall windows and ample room. The internet proved tricky since the front desk did not know the access code, but the coffee shop across the way had sufficient wireless that reached my room. The breakfast is adequate, and the location is great. If you don't want to be bothered by tourists but want easy access to public transportation, this is a great hotel. I love a quiet, clean room at an affordable price...and the Hotel Galileo doesn't disappoint.

We have just returned from a long weekend staying at the Galileo - what a find! The taxi dropped us off on the corner so we had no real idea where the hotel was and thought, at first, we were a long way out of the town. However on the first day we walked into town (a very circuiteous route), and then we found the.......trams - every 6 minutes and only a two minute walk from the hotel to get to Wenclelas Square or a 5 minute walk to get a tram to the Charles Bridge. We walked and walked and saw some of the most beautiful sights in Europe - especially beautiful in the snow. On the Galileo - a 3 star belies is true worth. As you walk up to the huge front door and press the buzzer the door opens as if by magic and you walk into a large marble hall, very elegant with extremely pleasant staff to greet you. The hotel is so warm (heat and atmosphere) with lovely furnishings, I loved the floor to ceiling drapes. On the ground floor is a lounge (a bit lacking in atmosphere) is a computer with internet access for all to use. The bedroom was large with 2 huge double glazed windows, floor to ceiling drapes and nets with matching throw on the bed. Lovely furniture and an comfortable chair, king size bed, minibar and TV. The bathroom was fabulous, large bath, loads of boiling hot water, powerful over the bath shower, bidet - loads of white towels. Great hairdryer, next to a mirror with over head light. In the entrance hallway to the room were two huge wardrobes and a safe (no deposit) - having said that there is a safe, I felt extrememly safe and comfortable in this hotel - no least due to the fact that the front door only opened on request. Execellent breakfast - plenty of fresh meat, bread and cheeses. bread, cereals etc. A shame there is no bar in the hotel, but there is a bar nextdoor, a restaurant next door but one and two restaurants directly across the road. We really enjoyed the food a U Webrer - fantastic steak (this coming from a virtual non-meat eater), plenty of cheap beer. We had a fantastic long weekend and would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants some sophistication at a realistic price.

This is a great hotel in a teriffic area. Outside of the touristy section, this comfortable hotel is located in a residential area just minutes from the center. Getting into the city was very easy. The room was actually a 2 room suite and had a fridge where we were able to keep cold items. The room was very clean as was the bathroom. Extremely filling breakfast in a comfortable room. We really enjoyed walking around and going into local places. The hotel even had a computer for guest use. I can't say enough good things about this hotel

We stayed at the Hotel Galileo for 2 nights. The room was spacious and the cleanliness superb. The Hotel itself was well presented and centrally located. The staff were friendly and very helpful. It took approximately 10 minutes to reach the centre. Near to the Hotel are several bars and restaurants where you can eat and drink for a fraction of the prices nearer the tourist attractions. We travelled as a group of 4 people and we were all very impressed. If I visit Prague again I would not hesitate to stay at this Hotel again.
