The room was very clean, staff was very friendly. We were 3 women travelling alone and felt very safe in neighborhood and in hotel. There is some distance between the hotel and the closest metro station. Front desk staff know very english and free wireless only works in lobby.

Arrived 11 am after travelling all night, only to be told we could not enter our rooms until 4 pm. No lounge to relax in. 30 minutes walk to Wenceclas Square. On returning we were given a room in the 'dungeons', (ie. wine cellars) with a small high barred window leading out on to the bottom of a 'well'. So dark we needed the lights on day and night and had to go outside to check the weather. It took two days to get a decent room after complaining, although the desk clerk was sympathetic! Breakfast plentiful but same every day.

Great hotel. The rooms are a little hot and noisy but after a few beers and all the walking it didn’t affect our sleep! The bathrooms are very clean which is always what I look for, and the rooms were neat and tidy with a TV. No Iron or Hairdryer but plenty of plug sockets if you tae your own. The buffet breakfast is ok, but not great and the tea is horrible so stick to the coffee. No toaster for my jam on toast! The Hotel is just in walking distance to explore the whole city on foot, although make sure you wear comfy shoes and be prepared for sore shins on the way home! If you can get one try to get a City Spy map www.cityspy.info, as it was very detailed and we didn’t get lost once (well maybe slightly when I was in charge!). Tram number 6 stops around the corner, about 5 minutes away, but we mainly walked everywhere. The tram tickets can be brought from Newsagents for about 50p and they are valid for 90min from when you 1st use them, you can also use them on the funicular. Overall a good basic cheap hotel choice for a few nights in a great city! Id stay again, (maybe with earplugs).

Went on a hen night to Prague in April, (we were one of very few groups of girls)!!. hotel was easy to check in although when we arrived all rooms turned out to be doubles instead of twin so we had to have them (comically) separated and by separated the maid meant half and inch! Can be a problem if you dont want to get that close to your mates. Very clean and well kept, excellent ensuite for what it cost. Only downside was some of the girls on reception who could do with a few lessons in politness but night receptionist was great and was always on hand to open a bottle of wine or two!! Overall if you're on a budget holiday with a big group the hotel is ideally located, short walk to town or hotel will glady phone you a taxi. Very good value for money.

After reading some of the comments on this hotel we were a bit scared of what we were going into. However, when we checked in & went to our room all our fears dissapeared. The room was quiet large & clean. The staff were ok. The location wasnt bad, although the walk back to the hotel is all uphill. Breakfast were ok although the choice was not great & was the same everyday. We were quiet lucky that our room was in the back courtyard so was very quiet. We would definatly go back to this hotel again.

Booked this as a birthday treat. Great walking down to the sights but a slow walk back as up hill( not over it just yet.)Hotel a nice suprise. Not much to look at outside but inside rooms spacious and clean. Breakfast basic continental, but plentiful, enough to keep you going through till lunchtime,or till you reach your first cake shop of the day!. Would agree on high prices of taxis but prepare to haggle. All tourist sights within easy walking distance (NO HEALS) as lots of cobbled paths. Would recommend for people on weekend breaks and a tight budget.

Ok, this place was quite good. The prices are low and the place is easy to reach, not that far from city center (for the whole trip we didn't use buses or metro...just walk. Prague is quite small. The hotel is not far from the Museum and in the street u'll find a couple of pubs and lounge bars (I suggest u the "Last call", low prices and yummy cocktails!)Abt the hotel: quite comfy, the receptionists are always kind and helpful, they can change money if u need it and they have a small bar too. The breakfast room is not that big and always full of people so maybe u'll have to share ur table with someone u don't know, but who cares? The breakfast is more like a lunch. Ham, salami, different kinds of cheese, and omelette (with or without onions and sausages), eggs, breads, a couple of cakes, yogurts, cereals, orange juice, milk, coffeee, jams, butter...and the same old stuff. No fresh fruit...but i think it's not a problem, I mean...I didn't miss it! The room was not that big just a double bed, a couple of mirrors, a wardrobe a small desk and the bathroom...no bidet at all. Well, I know it's normal outside Italy...but it's always something I miss! They r quite clean, and change ur towels every day, clean up the room and make ur bed even if u don't ask for it. Plus they have a lot of rooms to make up so even if u leave ur room at 2pm (especially if u r on the 5th floor or higher)u'll be lucky enough to have ur room made up. Our room had two windows and I had a view of the courtyard, shared with a school and some offices that have windows right in front of the hotel so, for ur privacy, u would like to keep ur courtains closed. The only thing I didn't like is that the hotel accepts school groups. Sooooooo u will hear quick steps in the middle of the night, phone rings and noises and all those things that awake ur killer instinct. lol That's it...I'd definitely suggest it to my friends.

we have just come back from my birthday weekend. we found the city club hotel to be very clean and warm, as outside it was freezing! we had a back room which was very quiet, but the rooms facing the road were noisey, the staff were off hand, but all the cheqs seem to be like that, i dont think they like brits at all. it is the third time i have been in prague and it wont be the last. there is so much to do. the hotel is close to the metro and the trams and you can walk to the centre easily. rooms are large and the beds are comfy. breakfasts are good but take teabags as theirs are too weak. no complaints, would go back to the city club again. there were 7 of us in our group and we stayed 3 nights, just got back last monday, 18th feb 2008.
