This was a great Hotel. It was clean, reasonable price, had a friendly staff, and was walking distance of all the major areas in Prague especially the main square. It also had the TRAM and the Subway right on the corner. I regretted not staying here the second time I returned to Prague. GREAT HOTEL.

We stayed at the Hotel Beranek over the New Year period. It is situated about 5 minutes walk from Welceslas Square and 15 minutes from the centre of the old town and the river. The metro and tram stops are about 2 minutes walk from the hotel. It is in a fairly quiet location - although our room was facing the main street we heard very little noise. The hotel was refurbished about 2 years ago so is in pretty good condition decor wise. The rooms are simply decorated, comfortable and a reasonable size. The bathroom was also a good size although it only had a shower. A buffet breakfast is included in the price and we were pleasantly surprised with the selection on offer - a lot of breads, cold meats, cheeses, salads, cereals etc. We found the reception staff friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel if you want to be a little way out of the main touristy areas and are not looking for luxery.

I stayed five nights at this hotel in Sept of 2006. I booked thru Expedia.com and got a rate of 57 Euros per night with breakfast and all taxes included. The location is some what away from the old town but only 10 minutes walk to the Welceslas Square. The Metro station I. P. Pavlova is only a minute's walk. There are trams also in front of the hotel. I had no problem getting around from this hotel on foot as well as using Metro and trams on my own. The hotel is newer and clean. Mostly Scandinevian style furniture. My single room was very small and had two wall to wall single beds with only 9 inches between them. Space was tight. No night tables and hence no bed side lamp. Had a small TV with some channels in English. Bathroom was modern, clean and fully functional. Shower only. Bring your own shampoo. Only one towel per person. So if you took shower at night, you probably will have a damp towel next morning !! Breakfast was fair. Coeffee had no flavor and OJ was watery.. Absence of scrambled eggs was noticeable. Bulk yogurt instead of packaged ones was not that great testing. But there was enough food so you will not go hungry. My rate was quoted in Euros but if I paid in Euros they wanted 3% more !!. So I paid in local CZKs but at the rate which hotel converted Euros was in their favor. I made calls from the room and they were very expensive. I arrived late at 9:45 PM at the main bus station so I had arranged a pick up by the hotel. The car was waiting for me. Hotel charged me 350 CZK which should have been about 150 CZK. Hotel can arrange the ride to airport at 680 CZK. I used the minibus at 480 CZK which came right on time. I heard one guest arguing with front desk because hotel would charge him extra for him inviting a lady in his room for a short time! Staff was helpful and they had free maps and other information for tourists in the main lobby. The street is quite busy so request room facing the rear and on the upper floors. During one night I did hear noises made by some guests who probably had too much to drink. For the value minded traveller this is a good choice.

Some twenty or so friends stayed at the Hotel for two nights 5th - 7t February this year. The rates were great and we were all suprisee at the standard of the hotel as it had been recently renovated. The rooms were warm and more importantly clean better than some ive been to. Each room has a fantastic bathroom with either a shower or a bath. Breakfast is continental 0730 hrs until 1030 hrs but if you miss it KFC and McDONALDS are accross the road. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the main square and all of the shops Its a bit of a walk to the old town but its down hill get a taxi back.. Over all the hotel and staff were fantastic and i would go back.. Beware the local Police like to use there sirens and Blue lights on a regular basis wether it is attending an emergency or trying to get through traffic so they can go home they use them and it can be a bit noisy at the frnt of the hotel

Our family of 5 travelled to Europe and stayed at the Beranek. We had 2 double rooms and one single, the accomodations were new, very clean and the beds were the most comfortable and we had the best sleep. Our double rooms were very nice and big with everything we needed, the single room was perfect for the single traveller with everything you need also. Because the rooms are airconditioned we could keep the windows closed and have peace and quiet even when we faced the main street. I liked looking out the front and watching the people. The nice feature of the Beranek is that the tram and the subway are right out the front of the hotel but is also very close walking distances to most everything. There were excellent restaurants at reasonable prices right around the corner. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was very good and a perfect array of food to choose from. I would definitely stay there again!

Good if you're on a budget but a few hiccups. On arrival, we dicovered the sheets had not been changed, pretty gross. We had to go to the laundry and change them ouselves. Apart from that, the room was big and reasonably clean but the fridge wasn't working and there were no tea or coffee making facilities. The location is really handy for tram links and the subway. Don't think I would stay there again but for the price and location, you could do a lot worse.

This is an exact copy that I sent to the General Manager at Beranek Hotel. Sir/Madam, I am sending you this e-mail to say a big thank you and congratulations for the wonderful service you provide at Hotel Beránek. My friend and myself had booked a Flyaway package with Air Malta which included accommodation at the City Club Hotel in Sokolska Street. When we checked in (on 15 August), we were told that it was overbooked (even though we had booked and confirmed in April) and that they arranged for us to stay at Hotel Beránek from 15 to 22 August 2007. I am so glad this happened. We were very satisfied with all the services provided at the hotel ... from the helpful receptionists, to the wonderful buffet breakfast and friendly people handling the breakfast room, to the cleanliness and modern room provided. Both my friend and myself have travelled to a lot of countries in good hotels, but we have never been so satisfied as we have been with your hotel. Furthermore, it's in a great location ... so close to the centre, yet in a quiet area. I felt I had to thank you ... we had a great experience staying in Hotel Beránek. Looking forward to staying again in your wonderful hotel. Best regards, JESMOND ALFINO Malta

Stayed for two nights in hotel Beranek with a group of girlfriends. They were very accomodating, put us in rooms side by side. Everything was clean, simple and without fault. Buffet breakfast was adequate and staff were friendly and helpful. A 10 minute walk to Wenclas square and 10min taxi to Old Town Square. We used the hotel taxi service which we found was a good price. Overall it catered for all our needs.

Really good base for a trip to Prague. Fairly basic but the room was a fair size, bathroom was very spacious and clean. It is decorated in the standard manner for large hotels. The breakfast was of a good standard but there was not a huge choice. Overall I have no complaints of the hotel, the staff were pleasent and helpful, the position is good for all the tourist attractions and I had a lovely stay. One slight problem was that the room was very hot, although it was -2 outside the radiator was on quite high and the air con set on heat as well. It wasn't too much of a problem as we turned the air con off but because of the thick duvets it was difficult to sleep even with he window open.

I found this hotel to be outstanding in all aspects. The friendly and helpful staff made visiting reception pleasant - including a good command of English. The room was well appointed and an excellent size. Finally, the location from my point of view was perfect - not right in the middle of the crowds at the centre of the city but only a ten minute walk away.
