reasonably easy to get to the centre of Prague fittings in bathroom tried to be too trendy, but were really quite cheap. Very expensive for what was offered. Valet parking was very expensive - about £35 a night, but absolutely necessary as nowhere else to park

The room had enough space and the bed was very big and comfortable. The bathroom area could have been bigger.

Stayed 3 nights here in mid August. Cannot reccomend enough! Booking a hotel is usually hit or miss, there's always mixed opinions but i thought this looked great for the price. Very happy i did! Was a very modern and stylish hotel, extremely helpful staff , gorgeous rooms and loved the breakfasts! Around a 10ish min walk to the Old Town Square and about the same to Wen Square. Was central enough for us, in a lovely quiet location. Felt completely safe (as 2 girls) walking to and from the more lively parts in the evenings. Will def be staying there again.x

The hotel is in a good location, but there are some major problems. First, the hotel is on a street with both a trolley and a road that makes cars rumble as they pass over the rocks, not tar, on the road. For sensitive sleepers, beware. The breakfast is served 7-10:30 weekdays in a pleasant room. It is more than sufficient breakfast with bread, yogurt, fruit, eggs, bacon, cheese, and juices and coffee. The staff all speak sufficient English, are friendly, and arranged a car service for us twice which was convenient. Lots of promotional touristy information in hotel lobby. Internet service in the room is free and fast. Hotel is clean. Television in room is about 24 inch plamsa which was ok. Bed was king size. Bathroom is typically European small. One room for toilet, and one room for shower. THERE ARE NO CLOSETS, no drawers, no place to put your items except two hangers on a wall. Basically, the small hotel room is a bed and bathroom which for $200 was not worth it and I would look elsewhere next time. Walked by a Marriott and Renaissance both of which looked good from the outside, plus plenty of unique hotels near the city center of Old Town. Enjoyed Prague very much, and hope to return.

We have just returned from staying at the Design hotel and overall, our experience was good. The hotel is very modern and has some great design features, but staff were not the happiest I've seen and like a couple of other reviews have mentioned, there is not a lot of atmosphere! If you want a modern, clean room with a big bed, which we often struggle with, then the design hotel is perfect! The room itself was very well presented and the shower was great, although there was a problem with the drains which meant there was a distinct sulphur smell whenever you entered the room, we did get used to this, but again not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel!??! There is a small lobby area and then two areas where guests have breakfast, these were well designed and funky and it was a real shame that these weren't used more in the evenings as it could have been a really nice bar/social area. Breakfast is pretty much what you would expect, fresh pastries, yoghurt, fruit and scrambled eggs, bacon and hot dogs. The only gripe with breakfast is that the sausages were cold even though they were in a serving dome, the burner underneath was not turned on. The location was great, we explored the whole city from the hotel and walked everywhere. Taxi's (if needed) are cheap, just ask the receptionist for a cheaper company as apposed the mercedes provided by the hotel. Our taxi to the the airport only cost 500kr (£12.50)

It was an enjoyable stay given cleaniness and location is a priority! It was easy to find, walking distances to sights The staff can be more friendly and helpful Breakfast was pretty good, again, it will help if if they hire more mature staff. The room is a bit noisy, next to the main road with trams running throughout the nite Not for the light sleeper but definitely a good value hotel

I decided to stay in this hotel based on the reviews from this website, oh my god was I wrong to! I really wanted a nice hotel and nice service as was bringing my boyfriend for his birthday; I booked an executive room for a higher price thinking this would be lovely. When we arrived, we were brought to this tiny room which was grubby with marks all over the walls, figuring they made a mistake I went back down to be told the hotel is fully booked and that was an executive room, I asked to see a standard room thinking it could not be any smaller and was shown a standard room that was still not great but better quality than the other room, after much persuasion they let us change rooms. Next was the food, we ordered a ham and cheese sandwich in the bar (which is also miniscule) and we got 2 slices ob bread with horrible cheap ham and melted cheese which had obviously been stuck in the microwave and both bottoms of the bread were soggy with condensation, the breakfast wasn’t much better, the usual croissants etc with fatty greasy bacon. Then we move onto the ‘lovely’ staff, I asked them to call a taxi for us to which I got a curt response saying ‘you phone yourself’, we asked for restaurant recommendations to which they had none, they nearly messed up our tour booking by giving us the wrong pick up time, only I double checked as I was sure they would mess it up, when we were checking out I explained how unhappy I was to which a rude employee named ‘Lucie’ basically didn’t give a toss, I was charged for the so-called executive room even though we didn’t stay in it, I asked to speak to a manager to be told there was non on duty and I could send an email if I wished! Overall they were rude, unhelpful and it was far from a 4 star hotel! It didn’t ruin our trip but I would hate for someone else to have the experience we had from this horrible horrible excuse for a hotel!

We loved this hotel too, its very modern, bright and clean. The staff were very cheerful and helpful, as we found all Czech people to be. The room is really two open plan rooms, the bedroom part is very comfortable, large proper double bed with duvet, two comfy chairs, plasma tv, plenty lighting, we found it to be very comfortable and relaxing. The shower/wet room is amazing, a full on power shower room with heated floors, fantastic! The toilet, also with heated floor is separate and the handbasin is on the outside between the shower room and toilet. Boyf wasnt too keen on this, but we both agreed the luxuriousness of the shower room made up for it! All the main tourist areas are in walking distance, but the excellent metro system is just next to the hotel too. I would absolutely recommend this fabulous hotel to all.

We are a young couple who stayed in this hotel in January 2007. The room was one of the best we stayed in on our 7 week trip around Europe. It was very modern, clean and comfortable. The location was good. You could walk to the main street of Prague in 5-10 minutes. There was a tram stop across the street and a large train station in the same street as the hotel. The buffet breakfast was very nice, alot like home. The only thing we didn't like was that the staff weren't particulary friendly. They did help us to book several tours however I was very sick the night of our first tour and we had to cancel. The staff were quite unimpressed and slightly rude about it. Other then that we enjoyed our stay.

We booked the hotel through lastminute.com having seen reviews here. We arrived at the hotel around 10pm and were served with room service given the time. I knew the hotel looked good on the web, but in life its 10 times better!! it really is something special. We liked the food (bar menu only) but its fantastic, expecially the burger and club snadwhich!!!! The rooms are super, and the shower was the best i ever used!!! The staff and wonderfull and will help you in any way they can. We very much enjoyed the chilled-out sofa area near reception after a long days walking around! the only downside was the cost of drinks (like anywhere). the bar isn't too bar really for a cheeky budvar beer before going out, but be weary of the mini bar prices (again like anywhere). There is a small supermarket in the train station, in the park across the way which we found handy. Definate recommends from us are: ... use the metro- its cheap, very cleana nd easy to use. the hotel reception has tickets for this and will explain all to you very well. use pragueairport transfers dot co dot uk for your transfer. They are very good and £33 return journey. on top of this they give you a very handy map on arrival at the hotel and you get a free 4 hour walking tour if you book a return journey!!! the walks are great in order to get to know the place if you are having a short stay, these walks can cost you £30 alone if you arn't carefull. do the river restaurants cruise advertised in the hotel lobby from prague sight seeing expert, its around £100 for 2 by the time you have got drinks on board, but worth every penny. food and views are great and you get a free 40min minibus tour round town before. for a true dining experience of super quality try znovice in the belfry tower about 2min walk into the town from the hotel. its on the 8th floor of an old bell tower and serves true a'la carte food, however it is quite expensive, although again worth every penny. for a cheaper meal try the pizzeria opposite mcdonalds near the bottom on wencelas square, next to the nike shop, its only a doorway which leads toa large basement restaurant but its great and good value, we found places that are underground reflect their cheaper rates onto the customer, this is the case with the shamrock irish bar, again on wencelas square near the topopposite the other mcdoanlds!! we never had to use a taxi as they are expensive and the metro was very cheap and handy for us, there is a metro stop opposite the hotel in the parkland. a ticket valid for 90mins is 26ck (less then £1) and it can be used on the metro, trmas and buses. a 18ck ticket can be used for a shorter trip, using only 1 line of the metro for up to 20min or 5stops, i recommend for peice of mind and using the entire prague intergrated trnasport system opt for the 26kc, but dont forget to vlaidate it before use (yellow boxes at top of metro escalators or on trams) seeing town sqaure, prague castle and charles bridge are a must. be aware of restaurtnat and bar prices in these areas though. make a onte of how much £1 is and keep it with you. however the lesser town side of the river where the castle is proves to much cheaper, we could eat and drink here for the price of a drink in town sqaure!!!! prague is a fantastic place and we would definately go back!! and we would definately stay at the 987 due to location (5min walk to wnecelas square) and the super quality and service in the hotel. it is highly recommended for all ages.
