This hotel on al-Fahidi Street in Bur Dubai not far from the textile souq area and across from the Dubai Museum should be avoided at all costs. The basic facilities were not up to health code standards during my entire stay. Also, for those unlucky enought to be assigned rooms on the second floor there is a disco nightly until 03.00a.m. that will keep one wide awake if you are expecting desert quite and serentity. Also, I requested a non-smoking room and despite having two non-smoking floors listed in on the elevator panel, I was placed in a musty smoked room with drapes, carpet and walls reeking. My request to be transfer to a better situation went unacknowledged and the establishment attempted to have cleaning staff de-smoke the room by repeated chemical treatments to no avail. For those of migraine sufferers who are scents attack prone this was like a double whammy.

+the concierge, staff... location, facilities -bothering to check the mini-bar everyday, instead of checking it when the room was being cleaned, lack of way or a sign outside the door to let the laundry guy know there are ( or not) laundry. I was sleeping and didnt like to be bothered to ask if there were laundry. If a sign outside I would have let them know before the knock my door and wake me up. So, If I stayed in the room the whole day: 3 people would come: first the cleaning, second the laundry, third mini-bar check. Just one was enough....
