Banburee is fine hotel. There is good service and it is very clean. Many of the guests was from nordic countries (swedes and finns). Location is another matter. Banburee is situated far from main beaches. It takes over half an hour to get to Chaweng which is maybe the best beach and town in Samui. There is nothing near the hotel. The hotel has a shuttle bus service, which is free, to Chaweng and another beach Lamai. But last shuttle comes back at 10 pm. No partying for free. Othervise this is very fine and clean hotel with good services. The people in reception were very helpful.

A great place for a quiet relaxing break. Service and Food excellent, free minibus service to local towns and resorts very useful. Location is a bit remote, (just what I wanted) but some may wish to be nearer to the action! We thoroughly enjoyed our final 5 days holiday here after having been travelling for 10 weeks. The Staff were just about the best we'd met.

Being our 1st trip to samui,we wanted a romantic & quiet resort to celebrate our 2nd wedding aniversary.Well...we got those at Banburee! We stayed at the Deluxe building (2nd storey)with a balcony overlooking the gorgeous sea.We especially loved the bathroom-big bathtub with in-build WATER JETS,perfect after a day exploring the island!Another plus point is the small window just next 2 the tub-u can enjoy the seaview while soaking in it..luxury!!Besides a DVD player in-room u can also rent DVDs from the front office, great 4 those who want to keep the kids occupied or have a movie marathon! The poolwas a bit small but nice view tho'.One downside is the shuttlebus schedule 2 Chaweng n Lamai, they should have more frequent timings especially in the evening.(We didn't go out much in the evenings because of this). The resort was overall very quiet as it was off-peak season (we were told that only 9 rooms were occupied the day we checked in)but that only meant more personalised service for us!The staff were attentive 2 our needs n requests n recommended the best (not necessarily pricey!)restaurants, shops in Chaweng n Lamai n even an all-day adventure safari tour around the island!Wonderful, quaint, romantic is how we describe Banburee...

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely setting. Taxi costs to Lamai fairly expensive and a more frequent shuttle bus would be desirable. Breakfast was very good and restaurant food excellent value.

This was our first to Thialand and we wanted somewhere quiet where we could relax and the Banburee was ideal. We could not fault the service and staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Our sea view villa was beautifily appointed with 4 poster bed, indoor and outdoor shower which meant we both could get ready at the same time. The beach was not up to much but with the pool next to it, it didn't really matter. If you wanted to visit the nearby towns there was a good taxi service provided by the hotel, again we could not fault the drivers as they were extremely pleasant and courteous. As we were in Thialand to attend a wedding my wife asked to get her hair and make up done the staff arranged an appointment at a local salon and a member of staff went with her in a taxi to interpret her wishes. All I can say if you want a relaxing holiday the Banburee is the place to go and we will be returning there again.

    1. It was disapointing that we were not advise while the hotel are next to the sea, the beach is mud not sand. 2. The hotel were in a very remote location they should have provided complementry pick from the airport but instead they charge us 500 Bath. 3. We would consider staying at this hotel even without the beach and make use of the spa and other facilities, but all the facilities were far too expensive. We just stay the one night and left the next day to stay in Blue Lagoon where the facilities were great and services absolutely brillent.

We have been in Thailand 3 times, and this is the best resort i have ever been staying at. The deluxe villa with garden view we stayed at was big (60 Sq. m). And the facilities in the room was very nice. The bathtub is the biggest i've ever seen......no bubbles, but it was handmade, with shell in it.....i cant describe it god enough....you must see it yourself..... The shower is outside......of course private, but you can take a shower and at the same time look at the stars above you..... Very nice.... There is no good beach at the resort, but you have the opportunity to take a "Shuttlebus" to Chaweng and Lamai were the best beaches and shopping areas is... It takes about 15 to 30 min to Chaweng and Lamai. If you want a late dinner when you are there you can take a Taxi back to the resort for 400/500 Thai bath. The pool area at the resort is quiet and very nice with a poolbar, kid pool and a Jacuzzi.... The staff at the restaurant were fantastic..... We were travelling with a 8 mont old girl, and the staff helped us the best way you can imagine..... At the breakfast, lunch and dinner they came and took our baby with them so we could eat by our self... Of course there were sometimes when the restaurant were full and they didn't have time, but that wasn't often. One time we asked for a banana for the baby, and one of the staff mashed it for us and came back and sat down and gave it to the baby her self.......we didn't ask for it..... I would give Banburee resort and spa 10 smileys, but the max smileys is 5..... I will also give asiarooms.com all the credit they diserve because we had to change our booking because the airplanes from Bangkok were full. Asiarooms helped os perfectly, and i will definitly use asiarooms.com next time we are travelling to Thailand. Thank you!!!!!

The good: This new hotel has excellent facilities for a reasonable price: DVD player in the room, spa bath, separate shower, great views, small but pleasant pool. They have a nice lawn area right next to the beach, and the grounds are well maintained. The service is excellent (the hotel driver picked up some tickets for us for the BEST seats in the house for a kick boxing match – front row centre) The bad: They are far from the town centre and only offer 2 shuttle bus trips (depart 10:30am and 2pm, return 2:30pm and 6pm). This will get you back in time for dinner in THEIR restaurant, unless you want to try the ‘Mafia taxis’ (400 – 500 baht with LOTS of bargaining) and stay in town longer. I suggest Banburee schedules another shuttle bus departing at 6pm and returning at 12pm. For any ‘complicated’ English you must speak with the manager, the reception staff is not fluent enough. Conclusion: If you are happy eating in the hotel restaurant (a bit expensive) and do not feel the urge to go out every night then this is THE hotel to use."

The accommodation and hotel grounds were nice. It has a beautiful setting and is peaceful. The hotel location is a long way from anywhere and we ended up hiring a jeep for a week. (Petrol is cheap by UK standards.)It is a 35-40 minute drive into Chaweng. The villa was a good size. The reception and restaurant staff were most helpful. English was limited for some staff. The food in the restaurant was of a good standard and there was a wide range to choose from. We thought the prices were reasonable - more than some places in Chaweng but acceptable nonetheless. The shuttle bus the hotel provides to Chaweng & Lamai is once a day at 10.30am & returns at 5-5.30pm. Some of the towels and bed linen were stained more than I would expect to see for a 'good quality hotel'. Bed linen only got changed when I stripped it or asked for it to be changed. We had to constantly ask for an extra towel and they didn't seem to catch on that we wanted it every day. When the flannels were used they were removed and not replaced unless we asked for more - frustrating after a while! We felt the bedroom of our particular villa (1104) was lacking in privacy. There was a path that passed every window and I often noticed certain staff looking in. The room could do with some net curtains so you could have privacy & natural daylight. The taxi ride from the airport was 700 Baht for 2. If you want a few quiet days away from it all this is a good place to go. If you want to explore the island you should consider including jeep hire in your budget (1200-1800 Baht per day).
