very beautiful hotel, located directly at the amazing chaweng beach, and at the same time off the very popular chaweng road. beautiful beach: white sand, turquoise water, tons of palm trees; fresh fruit, drinks, clothing, souvenirs, ice cream etc available at the beach (beach vendors). very relaxing atmosphere, cosy rooms, colorful decoration (mexican style), fantastic breakfast buffet, happy hour with free snacks, inside and outside spa area. several restaurants, bars, shops right around the hotel (not noisy at all!).

The service and facilities could not be faulted - the staff were both friendly and efficient, responding well to the few occasions when any issues needed attention. We elected to take a Junior Suite, giving us more room and, on the top floor, more privacy than most of the regular rooms. Worth the extra cost, any day. The evening entertainment was perhaps a bit below par, particularly the guy who - I use the term loosely - sang at the Thai cultural night; a blind man with an empty shotgun would hit more targets than he hit notes!! Still, we had a good laugh, so can't complain. What might be worth noting is the location and local infrastructure of the hotel. Chaweng accommodates more than half the tourists on the island - I estimate around 20 - 30,000 at any one time, judging by the frequency of flights, which leave the runway less than half a mile from the town, climbing straight over the beach before heading off to where-ever. Also, the drainage system is patently incapable of handling this influx of numbers and as a result one can see raw sewage in the streets all along this resort. However, I should point out that this is no fault of the Baan Samui, which proved to be a restful destination whilst we were there.

Baan Samui is situated in a great location close to all shops, beach activies etc. The staff are helpful and friendly and the hotel offers great value for money. The rooms are spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Swimming pool is clean with plenty of space for bathing on the deck chairs for a change from the beach which is located at the rear of the hotel. Would definitely stay there again!

very nice hotel, clean, not too big, central site, very fine beach (inspite of many jet-skis nearby... too many), very good breakfast, beautiful garden, but very many moskitos; very strict control of guests, so that my wife (filipina, Thai-looking) was at first rejected many times to enter the hotel with me at nighttime; the rooms are close together, so it's not too individualistic, but very clean and proper; friendly staff.

We thought the service at the Baan Samui Hotel was excellent. All the staff were polite and very helpful; with organising taxi's and places to go. The rooms were always clean and tidy. The location on Chawang Beach was central to the shops and restraunts; but not in the "too wild" area. The beach area was clean and tidy, and the two restaurants were of an excellent standard. We will definately return next year!!

For what we were able to acheive for our holiday, we couldn't ask for a better location that was central to everything. From the brilliant shopping and restuarants located outside the entrance to the hotel, to the serene atmosphere of the beach at the rear. The staff certainly displayed a very high quality of customer service that is a credit to themselves and to the hotel. The room provided was very comfortable, the bathroom clean and the colour scheme of the room reflected the cheerful atmosphere that is always evident in Thailand. A nice similiar comparison from our home in Darwin.

We enjoyed our stay in your hotel. My only concern is small size of the bathroom and the occasional smell of sewage coming from the drain. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I found the room to be very clean, comfortable and a good size. The breakfast wasn't too bad.The location of the hotel is great. However the service at the Moon walk cafe near the beach and pool isn't very good. That would be my only complaint.
