We were only there for 1 night, but the staff were very friendly and polite. The room was lovely. The complimentary fruit salad on arrival was great. It would have been nice to spend a couple of days there to fully appreciate the facilities. Only comment that I would make was that the aircon unit was quite loud.

The hotel was good. A little off the beaten track, but the service was good, place was clean etc. I'd be happy to stay there again.

The Arayaburi Boutique Resort Hotel also operates under the name of bay view village hotel. stayed at this hotel during march 05. very far from main road, about 2 miles. travelling to main areas like chaweng can be a problem since there is no public transport close by. the hotel does provide a chargeble shuttle bus service that does 3 trips a day. as you can see it is not very flexible if you want to travel to chaweng area for shops and restaurents. you have to book the shuttle bus service at least an hour before tha scheduled departure time. i would not recommend this hotel to people who like travelling alot and who want to get out and about. for the price i paid for this hotel i would have preffered to have booked a similar rated hotel in chaweng beach area. the staff is very friendly and polite. the breakfast facility is very good and the beach rarely has more than a handfull of people. must warn keen swimmers that there is corals in the beach and it can lead you to have cuts and grazes if you are not carefull during swimming.

I was very disappointed in the "spa" selections. I wanted an eye brow and lip waxing and could not get it there. The facilities for the massages looked fabulous in the website advertisement but were very disappointing in actuality. I would not stay there again.

This is a great place is has all yhat you could want from a budget priced resort, you will need a scooter as it is a little way away, but close to everything with your own transport. Koh Samui can be a little crazy in some parts but this is a quiet peaceful place with lovely staff who go put of their way to make you feel welcome. It is not a five star resort but for the price it was one of the best places I have stayed in.

The problem with going to Koh Samui is that you have no real idea of the layout of the island and how accessible certain locations are. Arayaburi is isolated and transport is needed to get anywhere else on the island. Taxis are too expensive, with a fixed rate applying as they know you are confined. Hire of a jeep or motorcycle is therefore necessary. The beach is rather rough with swell and waves, and I would suggest staying at Cheong Mon Beach which is much better. There are many hotels there. The villas at Arayaburi are very nicely appointed, but the swimming pool is very shallow and not very modern. The restaurant has an excellent variety of food at good prices. However, you get sick of eating in this restaurant. Breakfast was good with omelettes available.

Hotel very-romantic, far from everything! We need to take taxi to do anything. The most important is that the idyllic beach is fulfill of rock. We can't swim without scratching. If you seek a clear area with no people, no town center, no crowd, no shops... You will be served! However, the staff is very nice and the beach color is beautiful to take many pictures!!! Hope that my comments will help you to do the best choice!

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights late march. Day 2 saw us covered with BED BUG bites!. They swapped our mattress (at my STRONG suggestion) room 206, with an empty rooms (room 407). They then put a couple into 407, complete disregard for hygeine! I bought this up when I checked out but they were hesitant to apologise or offer any compensation for three nights lost sleep due to INTENSE itching on both of us. Resort staff are friendly, management non-existant, and overall it was poor. Without the bed bugs I would say it was an o.k. break but not worth the money. Definatly not boutique, just poorly rebranded samui bay view village. Beach is nice. Location is quiet.bed bugs are probably still there.

Were staying at the end of January 2006,no matter the hotel is far enough from Chaweng beach, you can always get to any point of an island you want, due to the shuttle service(you don`t have to reserve it beforehand!)or by a taxi which`s all the time standing next the reception. The area is very clean and so green that sometimes it seems to be a piece of jungle:)The beach(belonging to the hotel) is not wide but you`ll find a place any time you want without the help of a security:) Bungalows are well-furnitured(even the superiors)The breakfasts pleased everybody but there is a sence to taste their dinners only if you REALLY has no other variants:) Services:the only can be said:too expencive!never try to call anywhere from your room!!!!(or leave 2000-3000 Baht beforehand to pay-up your communications:))the internet servces will cost you about 200 baht per hour(asb it costs 60 bph in Chaweng) But...it seems to be one of the best hotels and if you wanna forget of your problems even for a week, you couldn`t find a better place for it!
