Amarin Victoria Resort Samui

My girlfriend and I travelled to koh samui last month on our 2nd year anniversary of being together. Koh Samui was chosen to be the place for us. I searched and found this hotel from the internet and booked it. In the hotel's website, I have already good impression about the instant confirmation function, which allows me to book and get the confirmation right away. To add to my pleasant experience, their staff sent us an email about a week before our departure, with what they called "be yourself" card. This card allows us to choose many preferred items in our room, e.g. the size of pillows we want, the kind of flowers, the smell of essential oil or even the choice of music we want to hear. From my experience with various hotel stays, i have never come across such service from any other hotels before. I must say that I was impressed even before i went to stay in this hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, we went to our room and it was nicely set up in the way we want with those requested items!!! We stayed there for 5 nights and they were just excellent. The hotel is brand new with lots of high technology stuffs. I brought my laptop with me to check emails and I was so happy with the wireless internet, which was very fast and the signal strength was very good too both in my room as well as any other parts of the hotel. And, it's FREE! The hotel looks very modern and HIP. This is exactly what we would like to stay... unfortunately, there are not many places like this in Thailand. and, I really want to impress my girlfriend too. I was so glad that she was very pleased with the hotel and we did really have a wonderful time together. Although the hotel's location is not rightly on the beach, we were not that bothered because they provided the free transfer service running all day long. The fact was that the chap taking us was very informative and spoke quite good english. The staff was also very attentive and the housekeepers were just excellent in doing their job. We would certainly recommend this hotel for those who would like to have a unique experience like us!

The Amarin is a clean, well run hotel with very friendly staff. The swimming pool is an added bonus as it is about an 800m walk to the beach (hotel do however provide free taxi service to beach and it a fairly pleasant walk despite sometimes busy road). There is a good breakfast with plenty of hot and cold goodies to choose from (Chef's omlettes are very good!)and Lunch Specials are great value with Thai and Western dishes offered e.g Singha beer and club sandwich with chips for 140 baht. Twice nightly transfer service into Chaweng Beach at 100 baht return is also good value though last transport back at 23.00 hrs disappointingly early! Enjoy!!

This hotel has excellent in room facilities including DVD and music players.

The hotel has nice touches in terms of their service -complimentary cocktail on arrival, small treats provided when the hotel is cleaned. Downside is it's not right at the beach and is on the main road, although there are lots of taxis that by-pass that area. The bathroom was poorly designed - kept on flooding if you tried to shower. It's best to take a bath in that bathroom!

Me and my boyfriend stayed here one night in the beguinning of Januari 2008. We booked from home, and thought that the hotel looked great, and the rooms looked really fresh and new. The Hotel was placed in between two other buildings. In the picture of the hotel on the booking site, you got the impression that the hotel had a great location. But it was placed among averything else. The pool was nice, but the view from it wasn't that nice. If you looked down you just saw traffic and dirty streets. If you lookd straight forward, you saw palmtrees and could se a bit of the ocean. The food and the staff in the resturant was really nice and helpful. When we left the hotel a guy, who worked there, joined us in the taxi to Chaweng. And when he found out that we haden't booked a hotel there, he was really helpful and checked hotels for us while we sat in the car. So very good service there....

Good rooms, not so good location, breakfast is ok but poor, In thailand I should prefer a good orange juice but not juice from a box Some staff could be more friendly Very nice pool on the top of the building.

We were terribly disappointed with this hotel. The hotel supposely offered free shuttle bus once daily to central (Tops Market). 8pm leaving the hotel and 11pm pick up from Tops Market back to the hotel. We waited since 10:50pm till 11:20pm (we even called the hotel reception 3 times to check). We were upset nothing was done and we doubt there is any shuttle on that night. The reception did nothing to help us. After waiting for half an hour, we had to take the taxi back to the hotel(paying 350Baht). The room of the hotel is fine, but the rest of the hotel decoration looks barely minimal. It looks like a large concrete building. The hotel seemed empty and there were more staffs than guests. We will never recommend or go back. There are much more hotels and options in Koh Samui.

The hotel is a located in the Maenam area however the free shuttle to Chaweng and their sister property located on the Beach is a very nice touch and does help alot to the bad located. The maenam private is very nice and only 5 minutes away which is ok. The hotel price is worth what you pay because you are staying in a 4 star property but only paying like a 3 star property. But you would have to pay much more to get to stay in a 4 star hotel next to the beach anyway. However currently alot to shopping areas are growing in the Maenam area and Chaweng is getting over crowd anyway in my opinion and the free shuttle from the hotel to the chaweng is very helpful. Overall i really like this hotel and will came back again.

the hotel was clean and you wanted for nothing the staff were the most helpful i have ever had it was quite at night so you could sleep well the down side was £7 pounds into town in taxi & 3pounds on tuk tuk but the hotel did take you free to beach & picked you up the hotel food at night was a miss it was awfull but the little english bar next door to hotel bare foot its called does a awesome english breakfast and is run by an lovely english couple"

Nice location, only the beach is 10 minutes to walk, but there is a service from hotel to beach with a tuck tuck. The beach is very silent and beautifull.
