The Unico Grande is a very welcoming hotel in a convenient if not A1 location. The rooms are large and well equiped whether for a short layover or a longer stay. The inclusive breakfast was of a high quality. Good coffee and mix of food and confy furniture. Room service proved to be quick, but the food was avereage at best and lack of good English speaking staff made ordering difficult (not for their want of trying however). Reception and other staff were always cheerful and happy to help although better English would have helped on more than one occasion. I would thoroughly recomend others to stay at the Unico Grande, just be sure to have your phrase book just in case!

Delightful boutique hotel with good service. Located close to Sky Train, but not that convenient for sightseeing in the Old City.

Good Hotel - Little expensive for budget travellers though ( I paid 117 SGD per night though room & service was excellent)

I recently stayed at another sukhumvit service apartment like hotel like FX (Adelphi Suites) but it was more expensive. The room at FX is very pleasant, spacious, clean...the staff are reasonably friendly. Only problem i encountered was the recent change of name. Its no longer called the Unico Grande so we had some initial difficulty locating it by cab. Breakfast was simple, but acceptable. Its about 5 min walk to the BTS. Most cab drivers had no difficulties finding this place because of its location (Sukhumvit soi 1) For a Low end of SGD100 hotel, I think its great value.

FX is really a value-for-money choice. The rooms are spacious and the staff are friendly and helpful, the ervice is good overall. Other room facilities like microwave, Hi-Fi and DVD player earned extra marks for this hotel. The location is good and there are three convenient stores right opposit to this hotel. Only a few minutes walk to the BTS Ploen Chit Station and you won't feel bore at night as the streets around are dotted with shops and restaurants, no difficulty in getting a few pints down at nearby area. The only complaint would be the limited choice of breakfast.

New and clean. The staff are friendly. It's close to Skytrain (a short walk down Soi 1), and also in a great location for shopping being close to Siam. Breakfast buffet has a pretty good selection. Rooms also have mini kitchen with plates and microwave. They were still renovating, so there was quite a bit of noise during the day, but staff warned us of it. Would definitely stay here again.

Well Impressed! The Grand Palace is a must, however, if you go wear trousers and cover your shoulders (male & female), breathtaking buildings and temples. The canals are very interesting as well as relaxing showing you the other side of life in Bangkok. Use Tuk Tuk's to get around but agree a price up front and whatever they quote aim for 50%. I never paid more than 60 bahts (about £1) to get around.

For the price it can't be faulted. Easy access to the Skytrain, friendly and helpful staff, restaurant food was good but prices were very fair, whole place was clean. Won't hesitate to stay again.
