Overall I was less than impressed by the Westin Grande. My stay was comfortable and the food was above average, but they could definitely improve service/hospitality wise. However, I would definitely recommend staying in the Sheraton Grande over the Westin if your budget allows.

The hotel is very old, quite a lot of equipment and shower is not working great, comparing to all the new boutique hotels right next to it, seems like I can get a better room out from the new hotels.

In a city where logistics can be a HUGE issue the Westin Sukhumvit makes Bangkok very easy for business. The Asoke BTS station and subway station helps beating traffic and it is located close to the Freeway exit as well. The excellent staff are very attentive and the food is excellent as well, the buffet is always changing and you can stay there for a week and not get bored. Also a good selection of Japanese, Western and Thai food at all three meals, only wish the top floor Kareoke room was a fine dining resturant instead, wonderful views of Bangkok at night.

Located in the heart of Sukhumvit, this hotel will provide you ease of transporation and no headache when you travel since it is just off the Sky train. If you're looking to do shopping around sukhumvit, here's the place to be. Plenty of retail stores around and for recommended tailoring, Crown Tailors in sukhumvit soi 8 do a good job.

Very average Westin, nothing great nothing very bad. Very poor public areas, except 7th floor bar.

What shall I say? Maybe another favorite hotel for Bangkok? Well, I think I will give up trying to put up a personal ranking list for hotels in Bangkok. There are so many fine hotels in this city. The Westin Grande is a beautiful, chic and modern hotel in a good location. It offers all the comfort and service you'd expect from a 5-star-hotel. Thanks to the skytrain and subway stations it's easy to get to almost everywhere in Bangkok (if not you can still pick one of the cheap taxis). Well, the view is much better from the Sheraton Grande (as the building is taller) and also the pool is superior in the SGS, but otherwise I would almost prefer the Westin Grande to the SGS - but also because I like the modern style more than the traditional one.

Love Westin! The staff was the highlight of the hotel, extremely helpful and accommodative (restaurants, tickets, shopping, directions, etc.). Loved the room, especially the Heavenly bed. Location was great with the sky train right at the door. The room service food was surprisingly good! Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay Go on a private tour (very inexpensive) early on, and get as many local tips as possible, his suggestions really helped us during the remainder of our trip.

What an amazing hotel, there is nothing more rewarding than after a 15 hour journey to enter the westin and expreience the hospitality that was on offer. It was a great hotel with easy links into the coty centre via the sky train.

I've stayed here several times now and find it to be a great hotel with wonderful staff whose English (and Japanese) is excellent. The rooms and beds are the best I've found in Bangkok (though the Oriental suites come close). I also love the location, as I mostly get around by Sky train, though some will find Sukumvit to have too much traffic and most will dislike the hawkers and beggars I imagine. If I could change one thing it would be wireless net access in the rooms.
