Stay away from the airport Limo and tour guide services. A big rip off The breakfast buffet is excellant. The service is good, The location is poor. The Tuk Tuk service is an expericence to be enjoyed for a short time then forget the shops Traveler's tip on shopping I have seen enough taliors and gem shops in Asia. All the tours take you to these places. Enough

I´m not sure how objective this review may be, as the result of the experience in any Hotel always depends on the guests expectations. My brother and I, use to travel often to Bangkok for business and pleasure and depending of our needs we use one hotel or another. this time, the experience at The Royal Orchid Sheraton went perfect for us. It is very well situated and value for money is a good hotel. however if you expect perfection, I would suggest The Mandarin Oriental or the Peninsula instead, but the price accords with it "

This was a really nice hotel with a wonderful view of the river. Room size was average which was plenty of room for two. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and it was a three minute walk to the boat station number 3 which was really useful. We never heard any noise from it either. There is also a courtesy boat from the hotel to the sky train but it could do with running into the evening as it stops at 6.30 (this was in January). We did use it during the day and is the most comfortable of all the hotel boats we saw. We ate in Etc for breakfast and occasionally for lunch which was really good. We also used the spa. This was something else - not cheap but well worth the money if you can afford it I recommend you try it. If you like to walk to places Pat Pong night market is about 40 minutes each way as was China town although there are always taxis waiting outside the hotel. This hotel was really nice and I will definitley be going back if I visit Bangkok again. Asia rooms were really good too. The booking was really easy and they were very prompt in responding. We even added an extra night to the room 4 days before we arrived without any problem.

A great stay I enjoyed my stay at the Orchid. The service was good, the view outstanding, the food OK, and the setting was great. Yes, I want to go back--soon! Traveler's tip on local attractions Beside the river with a great view. One can take the complimentary boat shuttle to the sky train. Adjacent to 4-floor Asian antique mart. Worth a visit.

We booked the Sheraton Wild Orchid because we were on honeymoon and the reception desk gave us a newly renovated room on the 24th floor with an amazing river view and flowers and fruit on the room. We arrived at 7.30 am and could already check-in, which is wonderful after a long flight. The staff was extremely friendly, the room was very clean and very well equiped. Breakfast was huge, with a lot of choice and once again, a perfect service. The only thing that bothered us a bit was the airconditioning that was always turned on really high, bad for health. We really loved this place and it's ideally located as well. A pity that only the last day of our stay we noticed that the hotel had a private boat (and a really luxurious one indeed) that we could use. An idea for the hotel information map: mention the free boat ride to the Skytrain, it comes in really handy, certainly if you want to escape from the busy crowd on the streets. To conclude: this hotel is to be recommended!!!

Riverview is fantastic. Service is great. The only things I can think of which can be improved are the time it takes to be serve at the front desk, and basic bathroom amentities should not have to be requested (no shower cap, no cotton buds, etc).
