Royal hotel is one of Bangkoks oldest hotels and is situated only a few minutes walk from Kao San Road, the Chao Praya River and Grand Palace. The place has a 24hour coffee shop, two restaurants and pool area. It is a good place if you want to stay...

The accommodations were quite pleasant for the price (about $16 a night, breakfast included, for a double room). This hotel is situated not far from Kao san Rd, where many tourists stay.

The Royal is a great hotel. It is inexpensive - 1000 Btt a night - and it is a proper hotel. Maid service, 24 hour coffee shop (bar), pool, AC, TV, hot water. Stay in the new wing - its nicer and the same price. There is a massage shop - killer...

The location to the major tourist locations eg The Grand Palace and the river are excellent. The hotel is more than adequate for the 'average' type of traveller. Would recommend.

stayed here first night and last night of holiday november 2009,excellent hotel nice and quiet, helpful staff, good choice at breakfast [buffet]. walking in of street paid 1800 baht for double room, ignore unlicensed taxis at entrance and hail one from street. room was good, we cant fault the royal and will stay here again.

The hotel was fine for what we needed as we only stayed one night...a clean room and good breakfast.
