We used this hotel only as a place to sleep so I cannot comment on the restaurant or bar, but the bedroom and bathroom was excellent being of a good size and clean. The only downside with the bathroom was that the water in the shower alternated between too hot and too cold, and was difficult to maintain a constant temperature. We were located on the 19th floor and the view of the city from our bedroom window was superb. For those who want a city centre location then this hotel is not for you. A taxi into say Sukhumvit or Silom took between 20 and 40 minutes and cost about 130 baht. This was no problem for us but it may be inconvenient for some. I would definately stay at this hotel again, and I am in fact in the process of booking my next trip to Bangkok for march 2008, and will once again be using this hotel.

This hotel is in a good location for shops and transport, and the staff were helpful and polite. Unfortunately, these are it's only good points. This hotel is terribly dirty and rundown. The whole of our floor smelled very bad from the filthy hall carpet, which clearly has never been cleaned. The room was no better, with a bathroom full of black mould that I believe had been there for many years, stained furniture and dirty bed linen. With a bit of maintainence, some paint and cleaning, this could be a nice hotel. Sadly it is not, and I would not recommend anyone to stay here.

Above all a nice, peacefull, clean hotel...not too far from all the tourist sightseeing places but not in bangkok central. Staff were all very helpful and polite. Breakfast was ok, nothing special just a typical continental buffet breakfast

Excellent hotel, was a little concerned before we travelled about the hotel, was extremely happy with our choice. It cost £1.50 in a taxi to get into the main, busy and expensive part of Bangkok, "

Too far from the downtown to get taxi back, and most of drivers don't know where it is or refuse to take us back or ask high fare. their guests are mostly from travel agency from asia countries, but the room is very quiet and is with good view.

Although Royal city is not really near to the conventional tourist spots, it is not really that FAR!! I have tried to take a taxi from here to Siam and it just costs me $95 BAHT (~USD $3), so everybody dun really need to worry abt its location. If you guys dun really have much requirements towards the hotel facilities, this hotel is a good option with neccessary HOTEL STANDARD services at a nice price!
