Regency Park Hotel Bangkok

Regency Park Hotel Bangkok

12/3 Soi Sainamthip, Sukhumvit 22 Rd, Bangkok, Thailand - Bangkok

The hotel has a small entrance but welcoming in a mixture of Thai and European styles. The lifts take guests to the various levels of bedrooms which are all situated around the central atrium. This is perhaps the main attraction of the hotel as it offers guests a quiet green atmosphere in the centre of Bangkok. A small yet relax outdoor round swimming pool are available on the sixth floor along with simple fitness room. (07/04PC) The exterior is modern, constructed in concrete and tile. The hotel is located in the fashionable Sukhumvit area and is convenient base for accessing the main shopping areas in Bangkok along with the business districts on Sukhumvit Road, Asoke Road, Bangna and Klong Toey areas. It is also close to the entertainment and nightlife in the city.

The first thing the doorman said when we arrived from the airport was "Welcome back, sir". We had not been in Bangkok in 10 months, and I am very impressed with that. The staff is outstanding, and this hotel is an excellent value. The rooms are large with good beds. The shower and tub is difficult to use. Taxis are readily available on Soi 22. Skytrain and subway are 5 to 10 minute walks. It is my favorite hotel in Bangkok.

I thought the room a bit shabby and rundown. The bathroom didn't look too clean either. But for that price, it was reasonable. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It's good in that it's in the heart of Sukhumvit, and there are many eateries within walking distance. But if you're thinking proximity to the train station, I find it quite a walk - about 10mins, not as near as I'd thought. Also, those travelling with kids might like to note that this hotel is smack in the middle of a red-light district, where skimpily clad girls sit outside bars (there's an adjoining one with the hotel!) as a display/showcase. It's very in-your-face solicitation. Men get pounced on while women get hostile stares. Not v friendly...Breakfast at hotel was reasonable. Variety was nothing to shout about but it was alright. TV reception was atrocious! Guess the "best" entertainment was the show outside the bar! If you want a cheap, reasonable place to stay, go ahead. But there are certainly better hotels in better locations in Bangkok that many of you can afford to pay slightly more for.

Good value for money and centrally located. Rooms vary in quality, but are generally good for the price range. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Don't count on using the pool or gym facilities, however; both are so small and limited as to be next to useless.

I was pleasant surprised with this hotel, while the front of the hotel looks shabby, the rooms are compareble to a 5 star standard, aircondition working great, breakfast very good,if you are looking for a big pool or equiped health club the answer is no,if you are looking for a good quality room and good breakfast this is great value for money, walk to the sky train about 5 to 8 minutes and very close to everything in the city.

My wife, 2 teenage daughters and I have stayed here often on our annual trips to Thailand from USA. This past trip/Dec'05/Jan '06 we had 3 seperate reservations for different dates during our month long Thailand stay. All excellent. We were even upgraded to the Regency Suite on the 6th floor (elevator only goes to 5th Floor) by the manager on our last stay prior to departure back to USA. Staff is very friendly and speak English well This is our BKK hotel of choice. Very convenienct to Sukhumvit Rd, Emporium Shopping Complex, Sky Train and "adult entertainment". There is some construction going on next door, so it was a little noisy, but nothing we couldn't deal with, and then only during the day while we were there. I have recommended this hotel to many friends who have stayed and returned.

It was a clean and basic room. A microwave oven would have made it excellent. The staff did everything possible to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast buffet was superb and took the place for both breakfast and lunch. In the center of the city and mass transit. A fun place to be. I would very much recommend this hotel and HotelTravel.com to others for their accuracy in advertising and ease in bookings.
