mandarin Hotel has a creteria of good hotel. It is near Mrt subway Hua lamhong, From this station we can take the mrt to visit areas in Bangkok . All the taxi drivers knows the hotel in rd. rama !X. the room rate the breakfast is good. We used to stay this hotel when we visit Bangkok. Unfortunately the mandarin Hotel was burnt down, we were replace to another hotel called Forum park Hotel. It is quiet hotel and far from shopping centre. The hotel is good to rest. All taxi drivers is very difficult to find the hotel. The staff is helpful and the bell boy Tanansak is a willing worker. It maybe difficult for new visitor to Bangkok

Good value for the money, but the security staff should threaten Thai women the same as farang guests! It is very humiliating for a high educated Thai woman to be threatened as a prostitute by a low educated co-patriot!

Well,we have been moved to Plaza Hotel due to the fire accident in Sep so I can only write about Plaza Hotel. I used to like breakfast and the location of Mandarin hotel so I made reservation again. What I can say about Plaza hotel is that it is good enough for budget travelers but don't expect too much for such amount of money. The room is clean but quite dark. Breakfast is really basic(bread, fried rice,1 or 2 dishes, fried eggs, ham, milk,juice...). Location is great. Just turn left and patpong night market is within walking distance. Recommend for those who would like to save for shopping and sight-seeing.

This is an excellent Hotel.Very well priced.Lovely big rooms and very clean. The only problem we found was the Kettle and cups were in the room but you had to buy the tea & coffee from the mini bar. They have a great breakfast western, asian & Japanese, lots to choose from. It was about 2kms to the MBK and 1km to the night Bazaar and Patpong markets. All easy to walk too.I would highly reccommend this Hotel to any traveller.

The politeness of the reception staffs are not good in general. In the event of power failure, hotel staffs take no action to inform the hotel guests and make no apologise on the hotel service. There was also no information on the electrical recovery information. When I approached the reception staff for the power failure, their replied was they knew it. Hospitality management needs to be greatly improve. Short and busy stay should be ok. I was very lucky to come back before the fire accident happened.

I stayed in this hotel before. However, this time it was very unfortunate and disgusted by the reaction of the management and staff of the hotel. I stayed from 28 Aug 07 to 5 Sep 07. On the early morning of 5th Sep, the hotel caught fire. There was no fire alarm and sprinkler system in the hotel. Hotel staff did not wake up all the hotel guests and help in the evacuation. It was totally chaotic. Fortunately no one die in the fire. My family and I were lucky to get out unhurt. But some personal belongings were damaged. I emailed my booking agent AsiaRooms and the hotel immediately. Till today, I have not receive any reply from the hotel. I feel disgusted and cheated.

we could have had a better stay if the fire would have not happenened, and above all if the organization in this kind of matter would have been better. Indeed, we were lucky because our floor was not burnt, though we did not notice any safety measures. For instance, there was no fire alarm nor lights (we had to use our mobile phones). Furthermore, we had to kick into the door of our room so that we collected the luggage... And we were disappointed by the staff organisation because we waited in the street until 7.00am. We would like to make a booking through
