Furamaxclusive Sathorn

59 - Silom Soi 3(Pipat2), Silom Rd - 10500 Bangkok

Location. Situated within the central business district of Silom, the boutique FuramaXclusive Sathorn Hotel is surrounded by major shopping malls and within 200 meters (0.1 mile) of the skytrain station Chong Nonsi BTS. The area transforms at night into an entertainment mecca. Resort Features. The FuramaExclusive Sathorn Bangkok features an all day dining restaurant with inside and alfresco seating, an outdoor pool, garden retreat, fitness room and sauna. Please note that the hotel will be undergoing renovations during September 2008 but minimal disruption to guests is expected. Guestrooms. Guestrooms are generously proportioned at 32 36 square meters (344 387 square feet) and feature climate control, complimentary bottled water, cable televisions, work desks, voice mail, dual line direct dial telephones, complimentary daily newspapers, minibars, coffee/tea makers, hair dryers, bathrooms with combined showers/tubs, bathrobes, slippers, irons/ironing boards and in room safes. Expert Tip. If considering some market purchases, guests should keep in mind that the prices at Patpong Night Market are oftenconsiderably inflated unless shoppers are prepared to haggle. Other less chaotic market shopping options include Suan Lum Night Bazaar (open until midnight with arts and crafts of relatively high quality), Klong Toey Market (south of Queen Sirikit Convention Center MRT), which opens around the clock and caters mainly for locals at local prices and Silom Village market which is popular for furniture and handbags (be mindful that many will be designer copies). Renovation Notice: Please be advised that the hotel will be undergoing refurbishment through September, 2008. Work hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The staff will make every effort to avoid disruption to hotel guests. Please contact the property directly for further information.

Great Value This hotel is a great alternative to paying double at a brand name hotel. It is well located - close to the nightlife, markets and skytrain so a good base to explore Bangkok. Positives - the breakfast, pool and gym uncrowded, thai massage place in front of the hotel

Nice hotel for the money Nice large rooms, separate bedroom and living area. Large TVs with DVD players. Nice kitchen with full size refrigerator and microwave. Big bathroom with separate shower and tub. I'd go back. Only negative was the hotel is tucked into a backstreet that's a little hard for the taxi drivers to find.

Well located in Silom Area The massage studio located opposite the main entrance to the hotel is fantastic and well worth making the short walk too. Great thai massage at sensible rates - they'll even do it inroom if you prefer.

Misleading Info on Expedia Stay at the Majestic Grande if you can get a room. It's the best value for the money that I've found in my three months in this part of the world.

Solvable Problems The hotel was in the perfect area, the room was great, the only problem was the bath shower. I wish that hotel managers would step out of their offices and take a shower in their rooms (arguably the 2nd most important thing you need, a good bed being 1st). This shower was designed for people under 5 foot and it was not possible to get an even water temperature (it varied from burning hot to cold. Besides the dily shower frustration we had a good time.

Fantastic! This was the first time I had booked a hotel on line, and I was so relieved to find it was a great success. Gone are my travel agent days, as I now feel very confident to book with Expedia in the future. The hotel was better than I expected. The staff were wonderful; so courteous and helpful. The room was fantastic. The location was great. The breakfast buffet was varied and delicious. The pool and gym were well-run and clean. I couldn't have been happier with my stay there. If I eer travel to Bangkok again, will most certainly try to stay at this hotel. 5 star!

Solid Choice Cabbies have trouble finding the place. Tell them to turn into Silom Road, Soi 3 (Bangkok Bank is the landmark) and then take the first available right followed by the first left. Hotel is on the right. You will asphixiate in a Tuk Tuk. Avoid.

My best hotel in Bangkok I have been to this place four times during the last ten months, and it has always been a perfect experience. The place is just around the corner from Chong Nonsi station and 10 mins from Silom, Convent St. and the Sathorn business area; the staff has always been very helpful (I had free room upgrades from my very first time there); the morning breakfast surpasses BY FAR the quality of all the five star hotels I have stayed in Bangkok. I decided to write my first review on this hotel today because I have been told that, after changing the name, Unico will undergo a complete refurbishment to become a five star hotel. I guess this means much higher rates... a real shame. Probably for this reason, I noticed that the last time (end of July) the maintenance of the hotel was way under the usual high standard, and this could leave some first time guests unsatisfied. Offering better rates during the months before restructuring would be a nice solution to the problem.
