For the pricing you need to lower your expectations. With that in mind, this would be a decent hotel. Room is cosy and nice, although crampy. Breakfast is simple and the dishes variety are the same for the 3 days i stayed there. It last me only 2 times before i decided to eat elsewhere. Location is not as convenient as what the introductory has listed. All taxi either not sure or don't know the place. Walking to nearest BTS, Rachathewi is 10 mins and 20 mins to MBK. Quite a vibrant street leading to main road with roadside stalls and two 7-11.

This hotel is very clean and has good staff, breakfast is a little basic but still ok, no facilities for cleaning clothes was a let down but you dont have far to walk to get it done near to hotel. walking distance to MBK and Pratunam shopping areas is a bonus. would stay again

i thought that the rooms where quite nice. the breakfast was the worst that i have ever had in thailand.over cooked fried eggs, rice and 2 other dish which i could not eat. so i had coffee, eggs and toast for breakfast. the staff where not very good,i order a taxi to go to airport and they forgot, when the taxi came she told me 500baht and the cab said that it cost 400baht.she told taxi driver not to speak. when we left to go to air port to go to Lao for 4 days .we arranged to come back for 1 night. when we return, barry littlejohn suit case had gone missing with all his things in. they where not to concerned. all they did was look at each other. we had to make them search the hotel. first they said that we left the bag in the room. we said,o.k. that's the case one off your staff has stolen the bag,as the only person that could have gone in the room after we left was a member of staff. they changed and said no. some one must has picked it up by mistake.so we said that you just left are luggage in the reception and some one just walk off with it. no one really cared that my luggage had gone missing

This hotel is in an ok position. 10 minutes walk to skytrain and from there it's only one stop to Siam with all the major shopping centres. Th e food stalls down the lane from the 7- 11 shop are brilliant. There are a couple of gems; like the fellow who sells the best tom yum soup ever and the ladies who make a pumpkin desert with custard. I usually stay at Soi Kasem san but I will go back to this lane for the food. The hotel is not bad. It's quiet, clean, breakfast is included in the price, but it's ordinary. Prices have gone up in BKK in the last few month, so 40 AUD for this standard hotel is probably ok

I have stayed in Diamond City Hotel twice, and both times I felt very at home and welcomed. It is a small hotel that is warm and peaceful, nicely tucked away in one of the small lanes in the city area. The room was much better than what I expected for the price I paid...cosy, comfortable, clean, good ventilation.

I noticed many people have problems in telling taxi drivers to go to this location, because its not very well heard of. however just prepare a copy of map or name card of the hotel and problem is solved. or just drop at Asia hotel and walk in by yourself. The hotel has been great. The receptionist is a very friendly guy and certainly works very long hours as i see he's the only receptionist there. Bellboy is kind and friendly as well and they do not initiate to ask for tips like some other hotels. I booked a standard room which is the lowest pricing one and its huge for me. All facilities were ok except no hot water boiler, but boiled water can be taken from cafe downstairs. TV were all thai channels, bloomberg, and some european sports channels. The location has been great. Walking the nearest skytrain Ratchethewi takes ard 10minutes. to mbk takes around 18minutes. 2 7-11 and 1 family mart nearby. Some Caucasians i saw over there made a scene complaining about the services, and even demanded CNN news etc. Mind them this is a budget hotel. They can complain all they want if they were to pay more for a more luxurious hotel. Shortcomings: - Breakfast is little. Do get downstairs early for breakfast if not there's none left. - The heater in bathroom is not very functional sometimes, it gets very hot and very cold by itself.

Terrible hotel. The shower had only scalding hot water or cold.(no warm) They promised to move us to a room with a working shower and then reneged on the promise saying all the showers in the hotel were not working. The neighbourhood was in the middle of gheeto and didnt feel safe at all. I have stayed at many hotels in thailand. This is by far the worst. If you are planning a stay...look elsewhere.

very small hotel. 10 mins walk to Asia Hotel. Rooms was of adequate size, no kettle in room, pillow case and bedsheet was yellowish or dark grey! We didn't enjoy our stay.
