City Lodge Sukhumvit 9

Excellent location. Very clean. Staff very friendly. Didn`t go for breakfast so cant comment. When checking in at 4.15 pm, I was told no room was avalable and would I like to go to Soi 19. When I told them I wouldn`t like to got to Soi 19 at that time, they suddenly produced a room. Had to wait 20 minutes for it though. No problem for me as I needed some shopping. Will stay again.

I have stayed at the City Lodge on Soi 9 on 3 or 4 occasions now. The reason that I return is that it is brilliantly situated in Sukumvit with access ( 50 meteres ) to the BTS and an abundance of restaurants/pubs/life in close proximity. It would not suit anyone looking for all the luxuries,but for anyone looking for a good clean friendly and secure stop over it is ideal. Mark Revill

On arrival I was pleasently surprised with the cleanliness and location of this hotel. Right next to Skyrail station yet no noise in room at all. Recommended for a basic hotel with great location, reasonably priced and clean.

Staffs were really helpful and friendly. Room is very old but clean. Breakfast was only light breakfast - served with 2 pieces of toasts, 1 coffee/tea, 1 juice, and assortment of jams. I was expecting atleast continental breakfast with fruits and cereals etc. Thus breakfast was quite poor for the rating of this hotel. Location was great, very close to the Nana BTS station and plenty of cabs around. There is no enterance for the cab at the hotel. So the driver had to stop on the main road, Sukhumvit Road in front of the hotel. Plenty of night life and night markets just outside the hotel. Lot of of places to eat and close to all major shopping centres - walking distance and also short ride in the BTS. Hotel room was very old and our aircon kept breaking down. Only 1 lift in the hotel - both utilised by staffs and guests. The lift broke down a few times while we were there and we had to use the stairs. Luckily we were only a few floors up. We had requested for non smoking, high floor, and close to our friends. We ended up with a smoking room, 3 floor (very noisy as floor 1 and 2 are serice floors - making our floor the 1st floor), and we were on different floors to our friends. They didnt even have a scale for us to weight our luggages. Overall comment is we will not stay there again. For the price we paid, we would rather stay at the Swiss Park hotel which is much cheaper and the breakfast noodles are very delicious!

If BTS station is priority, this is certainly a good location, because the Nana station is just NEXT to the hotel, very convenient (my room is same level with BTS platform, can see the commuters boarding & alighting, a little noisy though). Close proximity to China Town, Suan Lom, Chatuchak, Silom, Palace taxi cost u B35-80. The service desk is very polite and always serve us with big SMILE. Thanks to them they help us to book a taxi to airport on New Year 4AM. Many drunk people couldn't get cab after the New Year party. We book a triple room, we're lucky they gave us a mini suite, the room size is quite ok with extra bed. The room is clean. But, the price we pay is slightly expensive because New Year season, and no breakfast provided. The TV channels are not many too. I will stay again.

The breakfast in the restaurant next door is a catastrophe. Very limited what you can choose from without having to pay extra, and portions so small for what you get.

Small room good enough for sleep & Shower. Good location friendly & helpfull staff.
