It's location is just a street away from some of the shopping malls. Right next to the hotel, there are a lot of small shops and street vendors selling anything from food to clothing items(cheap!). If you like to check out the street life, all you need is to take a walk out and around the hotel.

We stayed for 4 days. The location is very good. It's very near the malls both low end and high end malls. The breakfast is good but I suggest that they should add more variety in their food selections, because after 3 days of stay the food is still the same. My children enjoyed the swimming pool. The people at the reception and conceirge are very accomodating.

This hotel was supposed to be a 5 stars hotel. It is way below 5 stars quality and I can tell you that there was so many problems with this hotel that I couldn't keep count. It's not more than a 3+ stars hotel and whoever tells you that it's a 5 stars hotel, he would be lying to you. I had stayed so many times at Shangri-LA BKK hotel and also I have stayed at JW Marriott BKK, Conrad hotel, Peninsula hotel. These are a true 5 stars hotels.

This is a good quality hotel, and would recommend to anyone, and possibly would go back. But for overall value for money you could probably get somewhere of a similar standard for almost half the price in Bangkok. For this hotel you pay extra for certain refineries ie 180 baht for a bottle of tiger by the pool, 300 baht for a pint of Singha in Henry J Beans. They do have helpful door people who are likely to give you decent information instead of sending you to their mates for a bit of commission. A a good touch was when I left, they did not try to sell me a ludicrously expensive "limousine" taxi, they called for a taxi meter and the door man made the taxi driver put on the meter without any haggling and got to the airport for 330 baht!

This is not a five star hotel. I had problems with my room. (old, tons of black mold all under the soap dish, sink leaked) I arrived at midnight and my kids were already asleep so no chance to change rooms. In the morning I went down (while my kids were sleeping) to complain and suggest free breakfast as a remedy. I told them I don't want to change rooms, my kids are sleeping. They said they did not have authority and the manager was in a meeting. They proceeded to call and send a fix it man to the room which woke up my kids. They then sent a catering services person instead of the on duty manager to talk to me and offer me breakfast 3 hours later. The duty manager left chocolates at check out. This was more like a transit hotel. If they had said 3 or 4 star I would have not been as upset. Prior I said at the JW and after at the Hilton so I know what 5 star service should be.
