A really good, small hotel, ideal for short business trips. Close to city centre

The Royal Peacock Hotel is in a very good location and it is easy to get around Singapore from this point. Being in Chinatown also had its advantages as far as cheap eating and shopping goes. The only real down side to the hotel was the room had no windows but for the short time you spend in your room I guess it doesn't really matter. For the price I had no complaints and would suggest it to other travellers on a budget.

Room was a little bit tiny. Noisy at night if your room facing the street.

Good for a short stay! Get a travelcard from any MRT station. It costs $15 and you can use it on all buses, trains, taxi (also in some shops). You just top it up when you like.

Despite having made 4 complaints about the poor airconditioning, nothing was done. The staff told me that they experienced difficulty with the equipment, but the receptionist told me that everything is in order (which it was not!). The place was very noisy, especially at 1-4 in the morning, when rowdy revellers left the bars around the area. The interior of the hotel rooms is gloomy and stuffy and the bathrooms are unappealing because of the black mould on the tiles and floors.

- The shower set, water pressure is low, probably need a good water pump, the soap holder is rusty and has moss growing out of it, the air con in room 237 is not well and needs very much to go to a hospital, water heater is not as hot.....
