If you are looking for a hotel that is cheap and where you want to be, then the Hotel Royal would be a good start point for seeing Singapore.Based on information a Singaporean friend gave me, I booked 3 nights at the Hotel Royal at Queens. Though...

Good location ,easy to get public transport but the price is a bit high. room is small. toilet is not so clean. small swimming pool with no facilities. all staffs very friendly. very convienience to move around. breafast evryday same food, mon-sun. very convienience to move around. easy to get a cab, bus and mrt

My husband and I stayed in an Executive Room - Double at Hotel Royal Queens (Rm 1030) for 4 days and 3 nights. We had a very nice experience. first of all the room is great -- clean, spacious, comfortable bed, well-lighted and good bathroom. Service is good and staff are very accomodating especially the person in their concierge (big guy but can't remember his name though). He's always polite and helpful to us. Location is great. Lots of places to go around -- within walking distance. Near MRT Station and Bus station. Near a hawker center. We requested for a late checkout and the duty manager gave us one. The only downside is their breakfast buffet. They had the same set of food for the 3 days that we were there. You can probably get a buffet on the first day and walk to a nearby mcdonalds or hawker center on the next few days. In sum, this is a good hotel and we will defintely stay here again when we come back to singapore.

Rooms rather run-down. Beds were lousy. I had a king sized bed but the matress caved in and I was sort of sleeping in a bean bag. My friend had twin beds but one of the bed tilted to one side. Rooms very badly kept. Coffee cups were not even washed from the previous guest's use. When I booked this hotel, I insisted on getting a room inclusive of internet connection charges. But I was charged separately for the internet connection. A friend tried to call me thru the hotel phone but the operator said no such person registered. Decide for yourself if you wish to stay there.

Newly Renovated Room but Bathroom flooded when bathing, overall a nice hotel

From the exterior, it was not up to my expectation. The area is quiet and the street was not well-lit. I was surprised that the room was very well kept, the toilet is clean and there was a new 32" plasma tv. However, the room is very cold, even after I switched it off. The food I ordered from room service was tasty and very generous. But, the morning's breakfast was a let-down.
