Fragrance Hotel-Emerald

No other rooms available when I'd just arrived at around 9pm, so ended up having to stay at a 'budget' or 'tourist class' hotel. Room was so small i needed to keep my suitcase in the bathroom (that doesn't have a tub / curtain, so the floor is always wet) - but I guess people usually go into staying in this kind of hotel with their eyes open. There were quite a number of cockroaches, but to be fair to them, they generally tended to congregate around the darker, more moist parts of the room. As long as you stayed away from them (and avoided dangling your arm down beside the bed while you were sleeping), you were ok.

+ Very helpful staff; good location - Beds need undersheet but room very clean and service staff excellent

+ Very interestng views across the street - Chinese cultural exchange !

+ Very good hotel, very clean room. - Far from Orchard road but it is not a big problem, you can go anywhere by MRT from Kollang station.

+ easy going - room in need of redecoration - very basic & cheap decor

- not being informed that it is in the red light district

+ clean and friendly - I didn't notice anything about red light activities, and taxi`s are cheap

+ Location and cleanliness - size of room , no mini fridge , airconditioner bad .

+ The hotel was not too far from the airport, It was a ten minute walk from the train station
