Chinatown Hotel Singapore
12-16 Teck Lim Road - 088388 Singapore
This four-storey city hotel forms part of Singapore's conservation plans to preserve the old world charm that still exists amid the rapidly changing skyline of modern Singapore. The façade of the hotel, which is typical to old Chinatown, is well preserved and complements the contemporary decor inside the building, complete with lift access. It comprises a total of 42 rooms. Facilities include an entrance hall with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility and a laundry service (charges apply). Located at the lobby level is the Business Centre, which offers telefax, photocopying and secretarial services, and a vending machine providing hot and cold beverages. Though the hotel does not have a restaurant, there is a breakfast corner where guests can help themselves to coffee, tea, juice and toast.

I enjoyed my stay there but the rooms are very small and there's no fridge in the room.

Chinatown hotel in Singapore is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in and was a massive disappointment. The rooms are filthy and badly maintained. Air conditioning virtually useless, rooms tiny and in very poor condition. No cleaning is done - bathrooms are disgusting. When it first opened it may have been adequate - but several years of nil maintenance have left it dilapidated and worn out. Location is also poor - it's on the Outram Park side of Chinatown - nowhere near the centre. After a quick scour of the internet we left after one dreadful night and went to the excellent Novotel Clarke's Quay.

Nice surrounding with classic old Chinatown houses. Very small rooms with no windows on the ground floor. Near MRT station.

The hotel is located very close to the MRT station. However, the standard of the room is very poor. The bathroom is basically a shower box - 1.2 x 1.2 square meter - the room is very small - hardly any floor space - almost could not fit the suitcase on t

The room was too small, and the telephone did not work. Fortunately, we were transferred to another room where the phone worked, and it was slightly bigger. However, the TV reception was almost non-existent. I also did not like the much increased tariff that coincided with the International Epilepsy Congress.
