It was the most memorable hotel stay experience. I was in Amara Sanctuary Resort Villa with my family for my baby's girl one year old birthday celebration and I got much more than I paid for which cannot be measured with monetary quantum. It was a Saturday night and right after we had dinner, desserts and cakes, we had the best surprise ever: A full fireworks display for about 10 minutes! Wow, it was a birthday celebration fit for a real princess! Adding to that, we had unexpected surprise visitors like the Peacock who sang constantly and squirrels joining in the fun. It was simply magical and beautiful. There are two fault though amidst these truly enjoyable times: there was blockage at the drainage in the bathing area, therefore when anyone bathed, water would flood for a good half an hour. Secondly, my husband, myself and my baby had body rashes the next day. We felt that this was due to the water in our private pool which should be treated so that there are no insects within the water and safe for adults and baby. But of course, all is well now. We have recovered, including my princess! I would definitely go back again! I hope I can receive the same level of service the next time round.

Even though the Amara is a relatively new hotel, the rooms and service leave a lot to be desired. I reserved sea-facing rooms for a stay during the Chinese New Year holiday in February 2010. Despite confirming the sea-facing rooms numerous times prior to arrival, staff infomed me that none were available when I arrived. I spent over an hour providing my reservation confirmations and speaking with management to obtain my rooms as promised. Then, when I actually arrived in the rooms, they were dirty and in poor condition. The sofas in the room were stained (I’m not sure what had taken place on the sofa before we arrived). The rooms had not been properly cleaned. The drinking glasses provided in the bathrooms were dirty, and my children found food and plastic wrappers under the beds. The walls and floor boards were scratched and chipped. We ended up spending a total of three hours checking in and then waiting for housekeeping to arrive to properly clean the rooms. In addition, the room did not have wireless internet access as promised.

Excellent Services. Was upgraded to the their courtyard suite as their premium rooms are all taken up. Room was excellent. Beauitful and spacious. Called the hotel but was fully booked, managed to get instant confirmation when booking is made here. Dinner at Seafood Market within the hotel was cheap and good. Cant be more happy. :)

Nice hotel, good location. Staff were friendly at check-in but they don't provide any information on the resort features. Be sure to ask for your 'hotel pass' to the Sentosa Express Monorail to take you to Vivo City Mall for shopping - its free if you have the hotel pass but staff did not tell us this. There are also free beach trams to take you along the beaches. The hotel also has a shuttle service to Vivo City - ask for that schedule too - its very useful but you have to ring and book it 10 minutes before it is supposed to leave, otherwise the service doesn't operate. There are cheap places to eat down from the hotel on Pelawan Beach and then up at Siloso Beach.
