Just like what the other guy said. a used to ba a four star!! Service sucks. canot even provide towels, Magnetic door keys/Card keeps on jamming, toilet backed up. For a lack of better words; service sucks. If a deal is what you are looking for, this is it. You get what you pay for!

The stay was OK. We got a little bit desapointed, because we booked the hotel and thought that it was the Sheraton, but then it turned out it to be the Dorsset.

The overall experience is good, expecially hotel taxi captain,Mr John Teh who has share with us the good place in Penang for where to eat, where to buy and where to visit. I thank him for his friendlyness and hospitality. Room to improve : You may consider to add in more fresh fruit in the morning buffet.

Not so Grand The Dorsett is one of those former 4-star hotels that changed owners and got downgraded. On the surface, things aren’t too bad but as you look deeper you notice the slight disrepair, the lack of enough staff, and the ALMOST good service. Breakfast was alright and the restaurant was open late for coffee and desert. If you drive, parking is scarce so don’t stay out too late with your car. The hotel is not a bad value for the price, as long as you’re not expecting it to quite live up to the four-star rating it advertises. On the plus side, the location is quite good, within walking distance of some nice restaurants and shopping in a nice part of town. Also a very short drive to nightlife on either Gurney Drive or down by the E&O hotel in the other direction. It is also easily accessible to the Penang Bridge and the rest of Malaysia. Traveler's tip for business travelers Bring earplugs, the walls are INCREDIBLY thin in this hotel.

Before I stay in this Hotel, I've sent a customer to stay. The moment she steps into the room, she called me and scream to be about the discomfortable about the deluxe room. Afetr a few weeks I and my 3 kids went to the same hotel and the same deluxe room and believe me, Its simply fantastic. Its actually nothing wrong with the roon but only a few minor things like, hair dryer, iron box and also the cattle is not working. So i've requested to change. I hah happy stay with my kids.
