The hotel lookd impressive fr outside. At the reception, we were attended by a local who was trying to put on some foreign slang miserably. And he was very flippant. The lobby looked as tho it has seen better days.

good hotel for the price Take the U101 bus to Batu Ferringi or Georgetown for RM 1.50 and don't waste the 15-25 RM that taxi drivers will charge. Buses are clean and convenient.

good hotel for the price Nice hotel in a quieter atmosphere than Batu Ferringi. Their private beach is not that great with little room to lay down your towel and is completely empty for most of the day. I think all rooms have a seaview, which provides good views during the day. My shower water pressure was very low, but can’t complain too much since I got a free upgrade to a junior suite (no more standard rooms available). Bus stops are right outside the hotel, both to Batu Ferringi and Georgetown. Overall, it was a good hotel with good service and low price. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks Take the U101 bus to Batu Ferringi or Georgetown for RM 1.50 and don’t waste the 15-25 RM that taxi drivers will charge. Buses are clean and convenient.

I would just like to share my experience I had last year. I book the hotel thru my company's rate & you wouldn't believe what a dissapoint and humility the hotel has brought to me, as I was treating my family to that particular vacation. The hotel condition was terrible. The bathroom shower was no working. The plugs from the wall were pull-out. The bed dressing table plugs were faulty. The balcony floor were full of fungus. So very disppointed.... I told the receptionist about the problem and to change the room but of coz it is to no avail. Said would send the technician up the check the faulty items but never came. How saddening. It was truly a bad experience.

Our family of 4 recently stayed at the Copthorne Orchid Hotel for three nights. While we found the room to be large enough for 2 adults and 2 children, ages 6 and 7, the hotel however has a shortage of towels for its rooms. We were told that the hotel was completely booked and they weren't able to give us 2 extra bath towels. The room only came with 2, and this for four people. After mentioning this poolside to another couple, they told us that they had the same problem and recommended taking the pool towels upstairs, which we did all 3 days that we were there. Fully booked or not, I've never heard of a hotel that didn't so much as have one extra towel available. At check out, we also noted this problem on the comment card, for what ever good that might do.

The staff was very professional and efficient. We had a very fast check in even though there were two other parties checking in and another checking out. The location of the hotel is good, its bang in the middle of Georgetown and Batu Ferrenghi. The view from our room was spectacular (we got a partial sea facing room). The room too was quite big, had a balcony and a decent bathroom as well. The only issue is that the housekeeping should be a bit more meticulous. We found a ketchup stain on the telephone. Just small small stuff here and there that would come to your notice if you are really picky about cleanliness like me. The bathroom though was nice and clean. Overall, I have a favorable opinion about the hotel. It was modestly priced, had a good location with a superb view.

It's convenience to visit anyway, near to city & beach area, also near to airport. The family 3 bedroom suite are good enough to have a comfortable vacation.
