Grand Continental Hotel

Value for money! location is strategic - within reach of most places, if u don't mind a little walk .. to the water front, to the shopping centres,etc. and food... ah, crucial to a traveller... food (including Sarawak specialities) is available within 3 minutes walk from the hotel. One request though - the hotel should be more creative with their breakfast menu ... that was disappointing!!!

The hotel was a bit far away from the main area of town, but the rate included breakfast, the room was a great size and was clean and the service was good.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nites. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Its quite near to the waterfront and most of the shopping centres. Also within walking distance to most eating places like topspot and secret recipe. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Grand Continental

We stayed at The Grand Continental Hotel Kuching for 4 nights and found it to be a great experience. The central location and helpful staff were the stand out features. Bathrooms and the variety of restaurant food need some attention to bring these areas up to scratch.

I had a great time in Kuching! The hotel is within walking distance from the famous "Sarawak Laksa" and some shopping complexes. The famous "Sarawak Laksa" is just beside the hotel. The service was first rate. They did not have a safe in the room, but there was no hassle in getting one in a "common safe room area". The staff were very polite and helpful throughout my stay. The down side is the dining area. The smokers really put me off! There is a smoking section in the dining area, which is just next to the lobby. So everytime I waited in the lobby, I was subjected to the foul smell coming from the smokers. Maybe something could be done so that the smokers only smoked at a back alley and not anywhere in the hotel. Overall, I would recommend this hotel highly!

We enjoyed three nights stay at Grand Continental Hotel in Kuching. The room we used was spacious, clean and rate was reasonable. The food specially breakfast was abundant and satisfactory. Some times people were seen smoking in the dinning hall area, which should be stoped. We found most of the staffs very friendly and helpful.

1. The locality of the hotel is not strategic for a first timer visitor to Kuching. It is more suitable for local people to stay or to come for conventions or seminars. 2. Service - Need to improve. Hotel staff should be more knowledgeable and able to guide or assist guest. During my stay, the front office unable to give good information about Kucing. The service were not courteous and warm enough. Waitress at the restaurant were not polite. To train them for higher skill communications with hotel guests.
