The best part about Carcosa Seri Negara isn't the gigantic, sun-lit suite, the lush view of birds and trees, full breakfast on the verandah, afternoon high tea, or any of the many other amenities, but the 1-to-1, personalized, 24-hour butler service. The accomplished, professional staff anticipated all of our needs and exceeded our expectations. It's not a bargain in any way, shape or form, but a worthwhile once-in-a-lifetime splurge.

We were thoroughly looking forward to our stay at the Carcosa Seri Negara having previously spent 4 nights at the Chedi at Ubud in Bali which was absolutely stunning and first class and run by the same group. We were however extremely disappointed for a number of reasons. The room was not very clean, the loo had a previous occupant's rubbish still in the waste-bin, the furniture on the balcony/terrace area was covered in bird droppings and carpets needed a good vaccuum. Despite being the only guests we had to wait 40 minutes before we received a drink at breakfast and on arrival I had to go in search of a member of staff to check-in.

This fabulous and exclusive hotel was the most perfect start to our honeymoon. We spent five nights at the hotel, our suite (only 12 suites and no rooms) was huge and very classily furnished with decor perfectly suited to the colonial era buildings. We had a personal butler, who provided a discrete and attentive service unlike any I have experienced. The two restaurants, one is run by an award winning French chef and the other is a local Malay restaurant; are both exclusive and a delight to our tastebuds. The amazing breakfast and typically British afternoon tea are an experience I cannot relay through words, in fact I'm becoming quite emotional thinking about the place! Definitely a once in a life time experience!

What could be better than after being let down by the national carrier, Malaysia airlines ( cancelled flight at last minute) to be driven to this marvellous hotel in a luxurious limosine and to be met by your own personal butler on the steps of a very grand and opulent old mansion. From the moment we entered into the Carcosa atmosphere, we experienced the quality and service of one of probably the finest hotels in Kuala Lumpur. Everything that it's email site promoted about the facilities was true and more... the French cuisine, the afternoon English tea and the curry tiffin were perfectly prepared and served. Service standards and attention to detail are the watchword without spoiling the peacefulness of the gardens and house. If you are wanting tranquility done with style and opulence there is no better place to stay but please don't tell everyone ! Afterall often the best things in life are usually best kept to yourself...

I had one of my best hotel experiences here! I was given a 7 room suite where Queen Elizabeth herself had stayed on 2 separate occasions! I also had my own personal butler, and a limo to take me to the station upon departure.

The hotel is the oasis of KL, situated between Parliament House and the Butterfly Garden. Landscape is extremely beautiful. The suite was well equipped with air conditioned, furnished with mini bar, cable TV. Each suite was different and unique with large terrace and private dining room. the Bathroom was really enormous. Carcosa's windows offer panoramic views of the expansive lake gardens, with Kulala Lumpur skyline beyond. FANTASTIC!
