With its recent growth in popularity among travellers, many luxury hotels have sprung up in Penang. The majority of the five star hotels are situated along the coasts, in some of the many beautiful beach resorts. Though prices have risen sharply, it is still possible to find five star luxury for less than 100 dollars a night. Top end hotels in Penang will all have swimming pools, often private beaches and the usual amenities and service. Many of the budget Penang hotels are found in Georgetown, where there is a profusion of cheap accommodation in hotels and hostels.
