Akasaka Yoko

6-14-12 Akasaka - 107-0052 Tokyo

Akasaka Yoko Hotel is established in 1977 and renovated in 1997. It is not large and spacious hotel but provides its warm hospitality for guest. Our hotel is located in the heart of busy Akasaka area, a few minutes walk from TBS studio. Famous Roppongi is within walking distance. It is a good choice for enjoying the centre of Metropolitan Tokyo. For budget traveller, we provide self-service laundry room and vending machine. Also Internet access at lobby can be available for JPY100 /10 minutes.

Very clean, friendly staff, good location, very small bathroom but good value overall

Definitely not a 3-star.. Incredibly small bathroom (you have to step over the toilet to get to the shower, and I found it impossible to use the toilet with the door closed) and no internet access in many rooms (pay-for-time kiosk in the lobby is offered as an alternative). Service was as good as possible, but the place is average as best.

AKASAKA YOKO is really good value considering its location and the breakfast buffet. Rooms are small but this is Japan! I shall surely go there again for my next stay in Tokyo.

The room was small but bigger than I expected. The bathroom was tiny but serviceable and shampoo+conditioner, body wash, toothbrush+paste and razors were provided. The included breakfast buffet had mainly Japanese choices but there were toast, eggs and fruit so picky western eaters need not starve. The metro was close by as were plenty of restaurants, convenience stores and a grocery store.

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at Yoko at Yakasaka. Good location and good value for money. We also stayed at the Chalet Inn and this was approx the same price for less quality. Staff are really nice at the Yoko.

Akasaka Hotel is a bit run down. Even though we requested a non-smoking room, smoke from other floors permeated our room and especially the halls. The place wasn't dirty, just old. On the brighter side, the staff is very friendly. Also, there is a pizza restaurant just two minutes walk from the hotel that serves really good individual-sized pizzas (I recommend). Bars, shopping, and restaurants are within a 10 minute walking distance. It's nice if you want to go out without the busy streets of central Tokyo. If you prefer busy streets, the subway is a 5 min walk, and the clubbing district of Roppongi is also close by. Overall, I wasn't especially pleased with the hotel since it was old and small, but I suppose it's okay if you don't plan on spending too much time in you hotel room.

Very small room. The room featured two single beds, and with the addition of 2 items of luggage, there was no floorspace left, aside from the doorway and entrance to bathroom. Anyone taller that 5'10" will struggle to use the bathroom and shower!
