There is a good selection of hotels in Jakarta, encompassing all budgets from cheap and cheerful to luxury and high end. Many travellers staying in Jakarta hotels are only here for a few nights, on their way to other parts of Java or Indonesia, but it is worth booking in advance, especially if your flight arrives late in the evening. Prices at the lower end of the scale can seem a bargain, with rooms available for around 25 dollars a night. Recognisable names, such as Ibis and Novotel, are also good value for money. Luxury hotels are mostly situated around Jalan Thamrin.
