There are many hotels in Bali, mostly focused around Kuta where many tourists stay. This is the centre of the nightlife and the surfing and the best place for after-dark entertainment. There is a good range of hotels to choose between. Mid range is well served, with hotels right in the heart of the bustle. The luxury spa hotels tend to be positioned further round the island, to enjoy the tranquillity of quiet beaches. Seminyak Beach is especially popular. Backpackers will find cheap Bali hotels in most locations – though the greatest range is still in Kuta.
