Mumbai (Bombay) Hotels

As with the rest of the city, hotels in Mumbai hit all extremes and everything in between. At the top end of the scale are some seriously grand and luxurious five star hotels. Some of the best known, such as the Oberoi, Hilton Towers and Taj Land's End offer fabulous views out across the sea. The Taj Mahal, situated right next to the Gateway of India, is a perennially popular choice. Budget travellers are likewise well-catered for. Many of the budget Mumbai hotels are situated near the city's transport links: close the rail stations. It's possible to stay for a few dollars a night, but rooms fill up quickly, so it's important to book ahead.
