i was a little unsure about going to india but when i arrived at the hotel all the staff were very friendly and made me feel very welcome, this is one of the best places i have stayed if you want night life it is there if you want a peaceful holiday it is there it is cheap and very cheerful, i will be back, the locals are brillient as are the hotel staff, i rate this my best holiday ever.

Could not find anything to dislike about it, visited in December and going back again in March. One of the best hotels around, and the service and attention is second to none.

We have never been outside of Europe before so this was a real experience for us Me 35yrs Husband 36yrs & 2 daughters 16yrs and 14yrs....We have already re-booked to go back as the Marinha Dourada is just the most fantastic hotel ever....The rooms were very clean and spaceous with tv, air con and ceiling fan and all very modern.

My husband and I went to Goa, stayed at the Marinha dourada from 4th-19th of november 2004, and had an absolute brilliant time. The hotel is in a good location for travelling about to different beaches, and there is a taxi rank outside, with a shuttle bus to take you to baga beach. However the cost equivalent for a taxi to the beach was about 35p so we generally got taxis everywhere!! The food in the hotel is to a high standard. The staff are extremely friendly and the service is excellent. Our rooms were cleaned everyday to a good standard, with clean sheets on the bed daily. It also has excellent air conditioning. We had a room overlooking the main swimming pool. Views from the Annex pool hotel block are better, but then you are away from the bar and shop etc. I would recommend having a view on the main pool but the one pointing to the annex pool, as you'd get a view of the sunset in the evening. There are a couple of bars worth going to in the evening close to the hotel. These are Mojos (english run, good food if the indian food has got too much!!) and Six Pack, further on past Mojos and the Saturday night market (also worth going to but a bit chaotic). Past Six Pack there was another bar called milos or something like that. On sunday night all the local musicians go there and have a jam session.

After staying in a few hotels in Goa, this is the best by far!!!!!!!!! We have made so many friends it is unbelievable. The staff keep in touch by email etc.The rooms are basic but excellent for Goa standards. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff there. Try it for yourself!!

The service and the location of the hotel was quite good. They really need to improve the food quality and the variety. It was value for money though.
