Mapple Viva hotel is a very clean hotel centrally located from the shops, 15 minute walk to the beach and 5 minute drive to the Bazaare. The staff were very helpful & courteous. Unfortunately, they don't seem to know how to take phone message. Otherwise service was outstanding. It has a small restaurant/bar situated inside with a pool (usually occupied by older male Indian tourists). There's an internet cafe across from the hotel about a 1 minute walk. This was by far the cleanest and nicest hotel I ended up staying at throughout my 18 day stay in a trekking group tour of India.

the mapple viva is a a hotel that can be described as the curates egg, good in parts, which is a shame really. The bedrooms are good with comfortable beds, there is a small swimming pool which is nice to have a cooling dip in,the hotel is kept nice and clean, thats the nice parts. The bad parts are the food,we never had a decent meal at the hotel, the food was ghastly in fact. There is a buffet on the 1st floor,or should i call it flaw,i think the cook i wont call him chef was trained to cook for animals,so we arranged to eat in the restaurant on the ground floor, and the food was just as bad,and the service at the hotel was poor, you know what it,s like.....your in desperate need for a toilet roll, you call room service and you get 1 the following morning!!i think if the manager gets a grip of some of the above it would be a nice hotel.
