I arrived from the US. My dad and I stayed for 2 nights. We reserved a standard size room with two twin size beds. The room was decent and it certainly was not the size of a matchbox as one would find in HK. Hotel staff was hospitable. We were able to economize our stay by leaving our bags with their concierge for HKD 10 per bag per night (limit up to 3 nights and 2 bags) and found cheaper place to stay for our remaining 3 nights. It is centrally located and convenient. And, if you travel to GuangZhou, the bus stop is immediately outside of the hotel.

Convienient For those who attend the 2 annual Trade shows in GuangZhou, the direct bus to GuangZhou leave every hour on the street behind the hotel. Coming back from GuangZhou, the bus stops at the same location. Note, direct bus service from GuangZhou to the Hong Kong airport have been greatly reduced, thus this is an inexpensive way to ensure that you won't miss your flight.

Metropark Hotel Mongkok Hotel was not bad for the price, it was not the most modern hotel for Hong Kong. Room was small, but since it was a corner room it was larger than the other rooms. It was clean and comfortable place and the buffet in the hotel restaurant was not bad for the price. We stumbled upon it since the hotel provided us with a free coffee voucher upon our check in. The only problem we had was when we checked in. We were never told we would need to leave a security deposit and since I booked with a debit card (Visa Check Card) I had to leave $500 Hong Kong Dollar cash deposit, which upon checking out was given back to me with no problem at all. The other nice thing about this hotel was that it was within walking distance to the street markets, but good luck finding an ATM close by. After walking and walking we finally stumbled upon one. Traveler's tip on recreational activities Get your hands on one of the free maps the hotel offers of Hong Kong, it is worth its weight in gold, especially if you are planning on walking to the street markets or area attractions.

My daughter stayed at the hotel Dec 2009 while on a school trip. She accidentally left a personal item in the room when departing. I contacted the hotel by phone to report the lost item. I was told to ring back 1 hour later. When I did so, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the missing item was found , and that if I wrote to the hotel, they will send the item back to me. After about 2 weeks, the missing certificate arrived in Singapore via registered mail . I would like to commend Ms Jan Cheng and her staff in the Metropark Hotel at Mongkok, HK, for the efficient service in locating and returning the lost item .

Hotel good - location may be difficult for some. Good location for local markets but somewhat distant from the indorr shopping malls that Hong Kong is famous for.
