Got a very good price for this hotel via Hostelworld, less than half the advertised rate at the hotel itself. Excellent value, big clean room and comfy bed.

My stay at the victory hotel was exellent . The staff from management all along the chain,well above average ,i was made to feel at home there , nothing was to much bother for anyone of the staff .My room spacious , cleaned twice a day , laundrey ,10 out of ten ,get it all done befor you leave it makes more room for all your gifts .

Great Stay I'd say. Nice everything. Almost a 5 star grade. The only problem with this hotel is probably the lack of local 'dim sum' restaurant in the vicinity. Unlike other hotels where I can easily find restaurants serving local cantonese food. If you don't mind the the part about food, try it! note: I stayed in the deluxe room.

I was most impressed with this hotel. It was a busy period (Chinese New Year) and yet the service was excellent and the room was most comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay at the Guangdong Victory Hotel again.

Nice clean hotel. I stayed in the Main hotel (New Victory hotel). Staff was friendly and helpful, room was very comfortably.

We were thrilled by the location of the hotel as Sharmian Island provides a haven of peace and tranquillity after the chaos and traffic of GZ. The hotel is clean with good sized rooms, but smallish bathrooms, the rooms are very tastefully decorated in a chinese way. The facilities are ok. The pool is located outside (on one of the floors-3rd?), with an amazing view of both Sharmian and GZ and this is one of the hotel's best features. The hotel was quite quiet considering that there were a lot of families staying. The service was good and most staff could speak english and were helpful. We would definately recommend this hotel and would stay there again as it is excellent valus for money.

For most Americans adopting children in China, the opulant White Swan Hotel on Shamian Island is THE place to stay. Our family, however, opted to stay in the quieter and less expensive Victory Hotel on lovely Shamian Island. The Victory Hotel has a smaller annex building around the corner from the main Hotel, and we stayed in the annex. We found our rooms to be clean and comfortable, and we will stay there again when we return to Guangzhou in a few months.
