This is a good value, modern hotel with good rooms. The location isn't ideal being a bit far from the centre, hence the good price, but taxis are cheap and plentiful in Beijing. We booked a double and they gave us a twin, then pretended they didn't know the meaning between double and twin, but agreed to move us the next day. Everything sold in the hotel shops, bar and restaurant are grossly overpriced. China has two economies. One for the locals and one for rich foreigners. This means tourist shops, hotel shops, etc charge 35 times as much as the local price to visitors. You can walk a block from this hotel to get all you need for 25% of the price, so don't get anything but your room there. Another interesting example of this we asked at the Business Services desk for a tourist map. They charged us 10 yuen. The next day at the Assistant Managers Desk they offered us an equally good map for free. Overall I'd recommend it though. It's a good room for the price.

Room was small but fine. Bed is rock hard - like lots in China. Breakfast was fantastic. Location was a bit further away from everything than expected.
