Tour Hassan Hotel Rabat
26 Rue Chellah, B.P.14 - Rabat
La Tour Hassan is a luxury class hotel located 20 kilometers from Rabat Salé Airport. Built in 1914, the hotel still maintains much of its original Hispano Moresque style architecture and is set amongst lavish gardens and fountains. Situated in the heart of Rabat, Morocco's capital, the hotel is within proximity to several area attractions, including the administrative and diplomatic area of the city. On site amenities create a sense of convenience, while still staying true to the area's history and heritage. You will find flavors of Moroccan traditional cooking at La Maison Arabe, the subtleties of the French influence at Restaurant Impérial, and fine drinks in Le Pacha bar. A business center, fitness center and swimming pool and Jacuzzi in the gardens ensure satisfaction. Beautiful guest rooms are warmly decorated with comfort and peacefulness in mind. Friendly, professional and helpful, the hotel's staff provides top notch service and will work to make sure all your expectations are not only met, but exceeded. The La Tour Hassan is close to many dining, shopping and entertainment venues.

La Tour Hassan had a friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were comfortable. It did have problems with hot water on my arrival, but was fixed 2 days later. The lobby, courtyard, and restaurants were lovely in traditional Moroccan design. It was centrally located. I would stay there again.

The one night I spent in this luxury hotel was indeed most pleasant, with its pateo restaurant, for meals, and drinks, and its most friendly and professional staff. erfect service. Only complaint was that in the lobby "little girls room" there was no toilet paper - for some reason it was overlooked !

I basically lived at this hotel for 2 months while filming in Rabat, Morocco (surrounding areas). The hotel staff is extremely friendly and accomodating. Most of the men and women working reception speak mutliple languages so that is quite helpful for European and American travelers, and they are very friendly. The location is quite close (walking distance) to sites like the old medina and the Hassan Tower. The garden/atrium is amazing and a wonderful place to relax with a drink or tea at the end of the day and to socialize with friends. The only drawback is that for those of us with a more "western" mentality, it will come as a bit of a shock to find that they are very strict about you having "guests" of the opposite sex in your room. They simply will not allow it unless you are married. This is similar to all hotels in Rabat, Morocco, so that note shouldn't be viewed as a knock on this hotel in particular. The wireless internet connection is "iffy" at times, but not too problematic. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rabat.

A discothèque making noise thru the rooms on the north wing, between midnight and four o’clock in the morning, is not admissible even on an old 5 stars hotel. The rooms had already seen better days. The Moroccan restaurant has nice food but the service needs to be improved.

I visited this hotel for a work conference. Some of the hotel (the pool, the bar, the spa and reception for example) are very modern and worthy of a stay. Much of the hotel (the main restaurant and the rooms) are very tired and in need of an overhaul. The food in the main dining room was very average (but if I went as a tourist I would go out to eat every night to see Rabat) and the room poor. The toilet seat was cracked; the air con did not work; the towels were grey and worst of all, each morning at 1:30 the bins were emptied into a lorry waking up the entire wing. Some colleagues asked to be moved and the staff were very accomodating. Other colleagues had rooms in different parts of the hotel and they were modern, clean and quiet. Maybe you;ll be lucky and end up in one of these. After a very good first impression of the public areas, I finished my trip disappointed. TYhe location is great, very near all the sights, and I would love to have seen more of Rabat - what I did see was very interesting

Slept one night during a roundtrip around the King cities. Hotel could use a overhaul to modernize. Rooms are OK but nothing special. Sitting in the 'enlosed garden' on the first floor near the small pool is nice but nothing special. Reasonable hotel for business or short stay for tourists for max 1 or 2 nights. Staff was pleasant. TV reception was lousy- and the problem was in the hotel cable system (even the digital satelite channels suffered from snow and noise - not expected in a 3 star hotel, let alone a 5 star.

I've been coming to Rabat on business for 20 years. These days I tend to split my hotel time between the Villa Mandarine, for its exquisite "eye candy" -- textiles, color, decor -- and its fabulous modern cuisine, and the Tour Hassan. TH rooms are old world comfortable, warm (it's cold in Rabat this winter!), and all are now connected via WiFi (free). The service is quite friendly. And the hotel is located downtown within walking distance of tourist sights and best of all, the medina. But the real reason to stay here is that the Tour Hassan's Moroccan restaurant is simply fantastic. For those of you looking for tagines and briouats and couscous to die for, it's hard to find great Moroccan food outside of private homes in Rabat. The Tour Hassan dinner experience in a beautifully decorated dining room, accompanied by live Andalousian lute music, is exquisite.

I arrived at La Tour Hassan after flying into Casablanca and driving the 1 1/2 hours north to Rabat. Though I tried to get detailed driving directions prior to my arrival, it was still difficult to find the hotel. The hotel should have a website (I wasn't able to find it) and they should provide a good map when requested. They faxed me something prior to arrival that was useless. There are no roadsigns in Rabat (or in Morocco for that matter). Once there, all was great. The concierge took care of my car. The check in was great. The room overlooked the Andalusian gardens, the restaurants were great -- especially the Moroccan "La Maison Arabe". The staff was friendly and the hotel was located in walking distance to the medina, the Tour Hassan, and the Chellah too! The nearest landmark is the well-known Catholic church St. Pierre's Cathedral a block or two away if you need to find the hotel!
