Probably the worst room I have stayed in for years. Dirty, uncomfortable and shabby.

I agree that the location was very good, but the rooms are very dingy and small. I would rate it in the 2 star category, though the lobby and dining room were clean and pleasant and the food acceptable. When we were there (as a group) two of the rooms smelled of raw gasoline, one room had the airconditioning stuck to "on" (in March), the window in our room, 1st floor facing the street would not close completely and in several of the rooms, the TVs did not operate. An attempt was made to resolve the problems, but none were fixed. Fortunately, we only had to be there one night.

Well located hotel, a short walk to station & shopping area. Rooms were small & shabby, but clean & comfortable. Several tour companies seem to use it, so breakfast-time & checkout can be very busy.

This hotel is located across the street from the Archaeological Museum (closed Tuesdays) and around the corner from the Royal Palace. If you want to walk out in the evening to see the old walls lit up, this is a great place to be. (It's very safe, as the palace is well guarded.) The hotel serves meals buffet style and gets big groups. Dinner was mediocre at best. Breakfast would have been OK if they had kept the dishes re-filled. Rooms are nice and no one got sick. You may not have a better choice.

Being with a group we landed in this hotel for our first night. The rooms are small, but nice and clean, the bed very comfortable. The food was good. The location was less important for us as we had a bus, but it seems to be relativly close to everything.

The Hotel Chellah in Rabat is part of the Danish Helnan chain. I found it to be rather worn out. The furnishings in my small room 304 were old and showed signs of heavy usage. My view from the window were not of the sea but the roof of the ajoining building. Towels in the small bath were grey and worn out. Restaurant buffet was standard good but the staff were not overly friendly. The best thing going for the Chellah is its location, across from the Archaelogical Museum and near the Royal Palace. It's overpriced: 1400 Dh for a single and 1600 Dh double. Rated as a four star, it would not carry more than three stars anywhere in Europe.

I stayed here with a bus tour and dinner was included. It was the best dinner we had on the entire tour. After dinner I went to my room and found a roommate - a cockroach running around the room. I viewed breakfast differently after that. I couldn't get the image of roaches out of my head. Where there is one, there are thousands.
