Marrakech's best Hotel!!! Absolutely Fantastic We will be back. The Hotel can arrange for a local guide and driver to take you to various attractions such as the market with the Cobra,s but be careful if you take a photo you pay and if you touch or hold the Cobra you pay. Felt very safe with guide as no one hassles you when you are with a local. Did not get drawn into seeing carpets or leather as this can go on for hours. Guide was very informative and took us to various monuments and old palace. Brilliant day out.

Penny wise pound foolish The resort is a 20min drive out of the Medina, and taxis charge between 150-200Dh for a one-way journey. Although the hotel car charges 150Dh one way, they appear to have only 1 car and thus advance booking is required, if you can even get on the list. Adding up, the cost of staying in the resort is more than what you would pay for a nice riad in the Medina.

A perfect retreat from the Hustle and Bustle! The Jardin Majorelle is on the outskirts of the city and is a beautiful and peaceful place - worth every penny of the 30dh entry fee. The Souks are a must experience for Marrakech - go prepared with loose change and ready to haggle! You should not pay more than 100dh for a pair of leather Babouches slippers. If you eat from the main food stalls make sure you use bread to eat with instead of the cutlery to avoid dodgy tummy's!

Secluded resort worth 15 minute drive to town Hire driver to escape out of city - into Altas and surrounding area. We drove to Ouazazarte and back in day - may be better to fly. Don't purchase items from first souk in center city Medina - browse a dozen first then begin to haggle - negotiating for half original asking is still bargain for vendor!

Felt like the twightlight zone Get a number of taxi company when in marrakech and check prices hotel gives you for transport - we arranged a taxi for a day trip (round trip) to the atlas mountains for 1000 dirhams - the hotel tried to charge us 2000!

Felt like the twighlight zone We stayed in Feb and hotel felt like a ghost town. No one was there except three other people. Many facilities I wanted were not working in the way I would expect. For example, pool was not heated and cold as the north sea. The excersize room was not open. The clay tennis court was not groomed - there were literally lumps. The tennis balls they gave us were totally overused and oddly there was no back wall to court so if you missed the ball you had to go fetch it! It was a strange experience. Manager responded to my complaints with some free spa and hammam which kept us from checking out early but found the front desk very unhelpful. Be careful on transfers to marrakech and airport - taxis arranged by hotel overcharge. If you want to experience marrakech - stay in the medina for a couple nights. If you want to have a tranquil experience outside marrakech this is not the place as of Feb 2008 - hopefully it gets better. Secluded resort worth 15 minute drive to town Terre Resort is worth 15 minute escape from city center to kick back and relax in wonderful layout - dozen or so octagon shaped "red clay" buildings (each 1 or 2 story) that together with palm trees, gardens, pool, stoves, give "campus" feeling of ancient oaisis. Our building had large common kitchen and lounging area on first floor - fun for family or friends sharing vacation time together. Our large room was up a level - clay brick tiled floors, 12 foot ceiling, twin day bed/couch to lounge watching TV, love seat under lovely window to cuddle or drape clothes on, cozy queen bed with lovely rose pedals and decorative covers made up 2 or 3 times each day! Separate walkin "closet" and large bathroom with separate tub and shower. Separate Door to large balcony with queen lounge (snuggling/chilling out under stars) Shortcomings - extremely dim bathroom light(maybe 5 Watt!) Low water pressure. A few ants on floor. 15 minute drive away from city center. Tell airport taxi that it is next to "Chez Ali" (well known tourist nighly show) or he may get lost (like ours!)
