Very pleasant oasis within walking distance of the medina The 'Cafe Extrablatt' is minutes walk from the hotel and serves meals and drinks (breakfast included) at a fraction of the cost in the hotel.

+Excellent staff, very welcoming and helpful, excellent breakfast, very good room service with amazing presentation. Good location, secure, relaxing. -Not many people can speak english, mostly french and arabic. The beds were quite hard and the swimming pool was very shallow.

I visted the Sofitel in Marrakesh in July 2005 and was very disappointed. The hotel staff were rude and as was made to feel like a burden.

+We found many members of staff extremely courteous and helpful. The amenities were excellent, but I feel if you are staying in such a hotel the spa should be accessible without additional cost. The breakfast was copious and delicious, with friendly helpful staff who served coffee and tea in record time. The pool area was well organised, and the pool temperature, though quite "fresh" was perfect. -One or two more senior staff members were impolite in the extreme. This I had been warned about and was disappointed that it still existed, because it undermines the enormous effort made by the rest of the very endearing employees. However one has to imagine that all the guests are not perfect "angels" either!!!

Luxury, Comfort and Very Attentive Service in Marrakech The local drivers of taxis and the tour cars are idiosyncratic about seat belts. They will consistently tell you there is no need to put them on. I'm told it is a machismo thing for them, as they fancy themselves great drivers. They are not. Insist on a car with seatbelts and wear them no matter what the driver tells you. They're the worst drivers I've ever ridden with!

Great place, daft rules Eat out, day & night. There's some really nice cafes and restaurants very close to the hotel. If you're by the pool buy water (because you don't have a choice), but expect to pay 3 pounds or more for 2 litres.

Sofitel Marrakech- nice, but not great nice hotel.... but not great. overall service was quite average....one would expect better. do not let them put you in a room facing the street. the late night noise from traffic and a nearby club is loud.........wish there were non smoking areas............

Great Hotel but maybe more a business person I would recommend anyone to hire a car and use the free car park in the hotel (Small car - 250 Dh hire per day) rather than using the hotel to travel to Atlas mountains and paying for taxi to travel throughout Marrakech. It wil take just 30 minutes to work out how to drive in the city and then you are set. We even drove to the coast to Agadir in a Fiat Uno.
