hotel well placed to old town(Jemaa el Fna Squire). helping personnel. Taxis are easily available to airport, 10 Km. Rooms small and furnishing very basic. Bathrooms need urgent attention for repairs. Old Hotel, no lift. Check for blocked wash basin and shower outlet when arriving. Good breakfast buffet at the terasse overloking Atlas mountains

Try and ensure you don't get a double room as small as the one I was given. The hotel is on a busy road, which could be heard easily in the bedroom. The waiters were very friendly, and the restaurant terrase was very good, but in terms of booking excursions, I felt under pressure to use those recommended by the hoteliers. In terms of location to the main square in marrakesh and the souks Islane is well situated.

Hotel Islane It’s a good place to go if you’re not into staying in your room to relax. The good thing is that it is clean and very well situated. The breakfast is good but the hotel could do with a bit of maintenance as on our last day for example there was a leak in our room but nobody seemed to care that much (saying it would stop with the rain which is actually what happened). Apart from that the staff is friendly. All in all it’s a good place to leave your luggage and to go back to only whn tired. Traveler's tip If you have a long stopover in Casablanca or anywhere else on your way back make sure you don’t get your passport stamped in Marrakech if not you’ll get stuck in the airport without being able to get out as the police will nicely tell you that it is too much work for them to cancel the exit stamp!!!!!! We had to stay for over 10 hours in the departure lounge and were not very impressed as you might imagine!

Overall sate of the hotel was worse than expected. Our stay included hot buffet breakfast but was surprised to see limited choice of cold continental breakfast. We then had to approach staff who eventually provided us with eggs as 'hot breakfast'. Hotel staff however was very helpful.

Good for the price Given some of the reviews we went with some reservations. We arrived early - 11.30 in fact and, without hesitation were given our room. The staff at all times were both polite and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean, and cleaned every day and come on, what can you expect at this low low price!! Clean sheets everyday - more than can be said when on a recent New York trip. And the breakfast was fine. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was lovely and not too expensive as suggested elsewhere. Real value for money and suitable for those who are on an active holiday using the hotel just as a base. Only real gripe was the noise levels in the hotel and sound travelled so easily- found ourselves whispering all the time for privacy! Tip - agree your price with taxidriver before journey or insist the meter is put on - forgot once and was charged 4 times normal rate. Get the shuttle bus from the airport - no19 - our driver spoke English and dropped people off at their hotels! 20dhms - taxi quoted us 150dhms.

The hotel was good. The location infront of the Kubiota mosque was perfect for tourist. Although it not like other 3 star hotel, but who stay there will happy. Easy to move around Marrakech.

Nice budget hotel Getting off the hotel, turn left and walk straight ahead if you want to have a look at the city, you don't need to take a bus or taxi.

Good location but no air con and snoopy housekeeping Also avoid staff/everyone who wants to give you a tour/help. Prepare to argue for everything. Generally prices should be about half of english prices. When bartering start with a price about 1/4 or 1/5 and don't move too much away from it.
