my husband and i stayed at Hotel Amine recently and would say that it was a three star and not four as advertised.the room we were in was not clean, the floor was very dusty as well as the skirting boards, dado rails and the picture on the wall.the towels were changed every day and the beds were made which was good.the furniture in the room was generally tatty, paint missing off of the dado rails and the wooden patio doors were in need of sanding down as the coating was very cracked.i would say that it was in desperate need of modernisation.the restaurant was dated and quite dark as a few of the light bulbs were out.the food was ok but no hot breakfast, plenty of bread rolls and jams which were lovely.evening meal was nice but very simple food.another guest was vegetarian and they had nothing hot for her to eat, just salad.we stayed half board.we used the snack bar on occassions but found it very expensive to eat but nice food.drinks were very dear indeed.it worked out to be two pounds fifty pence for one shot of vodka which was half an english measure and that was without coke.on the whole we would not go back to this hotel as we found it did not match up to what we had seen advertised.some of the younger staff were really nice but there were a few of the older ones that really didnt have time for you and if you asked for something, like lemon for your cup of tea in the morning,it was an effort to accommodate your needs.the gardens were lovely as was the swimming pool.the day before we left they drained the pool and started to dig up the patio by the snack bar and the guests could not use those facilities at all but they did not tell us anything,no notice up to say that work was being carried out and sorry for any inconvenience and we felt sorry for guests who had just arrived as they didnt know until they tried to get a sunlounger by the pool.

This is definitely not a 4* hotel!!! More like 3 * We had half board and the food was monotonous and often cold! Waiters more concerned with being tipped than giving service. We were told we could not eat at the hotel on New Year's Eve at 8.30pm unless we paid another £100 and when all other places were booked up. It completely ruined the holiday. The receptionists were very unhelpful about this and one looked as if he was going to hit me, snatching documents and ripping them! The experience is the hammam was not great--just a hot shower aimed at the ceiling to create steam! The massage was very rough and the masseusse was rude. Will not be returning!

The hotel was very nice and quite worth the money. The grounds and pool area were lush with beautiful plants and trees. My room was right off a little court yard with lush shrubbery and tall palm trees and the light coming through was very nice. Rooms were small but neat and clean and bathrooms were beautifully tiled, cleaned daily with fresh towels .. the soap was more of a crayon wax and the air conditioning was not great.. but better then nothing. The pool area had a lot of lounge chairs and a nice eating area, but the food was pricey, but good .

Fairly basic compared to 4 star at home We had a fantastic taxi driver which the hotel carpark attendant knew. He gave us all the information we needed and took us to places usual coach trips wouldn't. Ask for Mohammed!
