Looked good on the website, but there were ants in the bed, construction going on all over the place, rubbish airconditioning and very rude staff. The poolside did not have any sun. Spoke to the General Manager and we got offered a different room, but things were so bad for what was meant to be a 5 star hotel! we moved to the Sofitel across the road. hotels.com later on re-imbursed us for the entire stay - Great job!

Although we had booked only a standard room, when we arrived, because hotel was full, we were given a de luxe suite for first night. This was so good, we negotiated a very reasonable rate with the hotel to keep this suite for our other 3 nights. The staff are all very courteous, friendly and helpful, especially on reception. The facilities overall were good, but the bar on the roof was closed for our stay and the remaining bar closed at 11.00pm - a bit early when most customers were obviously on holiday. There is a very ritzy nightclub a few paces from the front door however. Quite a good place. Hotel arranged for a driver to take us on to our next destination and also booked a restaurant for us. Hotel is excellent and we would stay there again.

Very good hotel. As you can see from my judgements main strengths are: -service. Hivernage’s personnel is always ready to satisfy guest’ needs. It’s worth mentioning that one evening they booked for me a beautiful restaurant in the Medina, they arranged the transfer to the airport at 5:00 in the morning at market prices, they suggested me fair prices to pay to taxi drivers, etc… -atmosphere. Sumptuous and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for couples. The building is pretty new. -location. Jemaa-al-Fnaa can be reached by foot. I strongly recommend this hotel. Enjoy "

As newcomers to Marrakech we were looking for a hotel that would be close to the city yet able to offer sanctuary. Hivernage Spa was exactly that. Staff were friendly, without being oppressive, and extremely efficent. The spa facilities were excellent and affordable. Breakfast! Well....such a feast, with every nook and cranny of the dining room filled with alternatives, from a great variety of fresh fruit to omlettes made to personal specification. Finally, it was good to be in a small hotel rather than a huge impersonal one.

Stayed for 3 nights. Very impressive and so positive! I'd like to thank all the team for nice staying, everything was just great. Guys on reception were very helpful and sincere. Free map of surroundings was extremely detailed and useful. Thanks again! Room service was slow, but it's Morocco... :-) Food in the restaurant was delicious and prices were reasonable. Restaurant service was excellent. Included breakfast - so plentiful and tasty. Our room was spick and span during all the stay and cozy. However, the size of it should be much bigger for such a hotel and such a price. As for disappointment, there was no bidet. Minor minus, but it's surprising for me anyway. The hotel itself is relatively small, which is a big plus, cause you can feel more comfort and personal attitude. The location is a big plus, too. You can reach all possible sightseeing places easily. At the same time Hivernage is not located in a noisy and busy place, so you can have a full rest, if needed. Some ritzy night club is at the next door, so you are welcome, if you prefer to spend night actively :-)There is nice and clean pool, and the water is warm to have swimming. There's small bar near the pool, so you can have everything for a good sun-bathing, waiters are attentive and efficient. As it's impossible to have everything on top all the time, somebody stole a pack of pistachios from our mini-bar :-) But on a check-out we were not charged for this. Again, when a room service guy brought us our food order which turned to be partly wrong and then improved, we were not charged for the variation of prices, in spite of the fact that the correct sum was bigger, than the sum for wrong dishes. So, the client service in Hivernage is 100% perfect! There are a lot of spa services in the hotel. We didn't plan to use them during this stay, but prices appeared to be so reasonable, that me and my wife we are going to try them all on our next visit! :-) Anyway, not all of my ratings are the highest. One thing is the room size, sorry for repeating. And the other is a strange feeling, that Hivernage Hotel is trying to be more luxurious place than it is :-) So, I put 4 of possible 5 for "value for money". In spite of small minuses, this hotel is my unquestioning reco for anybody who want to have cool holiday in Marrakech. To my mind, this hotel is not for a business trip, but only for one reson - it's so relaxing there :-) My thanks and respect for the hotel team!

"Not five star as we know it" Anywhere bar the main square as this can and will come as a culture shock.

Nice modern hotel in Marrakech. Close to Medina and main square (10mins walk). 20 mins walk from the new town centre. Nice rooms with view of mountains. Has a very nice patisserie restaurant attached. Recommended.

Not the best hotel we've stayed in.... The hotel is in a pretty good location, but still need taxis everywhere. The staff in the "spa" are quite rude, not the therapists but the reception, complained to the Hotel manager said he would look into, never got back to us! Cokes are 1.70 at the pool, yet 1.00 in the hotel cafe next door, better off buying in the cafe then taking it with you to the poolside, why don't they have the same price, beyond me. Wouldn't stay here again, and told the Manager that after our complaints went unheard, best stay at the Soffitel, looked fantastic....but maybe you still need to be French to not be ignored....
