The hotel staff were pathetic. They were more interested in pampering the European tourist, which I find quite insulting. Everyday when I had breakfast, no hotel staff asked any European tourist about their room number, but everyday when I went to restaurant in the hotel for buffet breakfast, they asked in a very insulting, rude and suspicious way about my room number, and noted it down. I am Asian by the way. I am definitely not recommending this hotel to anyone.

Overall the hotel was fine, my friends and I wanted a 1 night stay in a decent hotel which wasn't too expensive so we could do a bit of sightseeing. It was easy to find and the car was safely parked below ground. The facilities i.e. pool, bar, etc...were perfect and breakfast was ample.

We stayed in this hotel just for one night and we didn't like it. First of all there was a lady at the reception not really representing the moroccan hospitality that we experienced in our stay in Morocco. My wife and I asked her twice to fix the TV but nothing happended. The rooms looked old with no care. The breakfast was ok and the pool is only for adults. So if you have kids like us forget about it. Over all it doesn't deserve the price that we paid, we found very good deal else where for the the rest of our stay in Marrakech.

We went to stay at this hotel end of March 2008. We paid 70 DH from the airport in a petit taxi. Our first impressions from the outside and reception area, were that it looked quite nice. It is spacious, the decor in the these areas appeared a little dated but it looked well maintained. However, having gne to our room we were very dissappointed. We paid 247, pounds for 6 nights, which is cheap in price, but nonethless, the room was very depressing. It was minimal in decor, which can normally be a good thing, but the fact was that unlike the reception and communal areas the room was poorly maintained, it looked like they had not updated anything since the 1970's when it was originally built. I would describe the room as shabby / tatty. For example in the passage ways and hotels you could see where they had fixed cracks and shabbily re-cemented between the wall and the floor tiles. We did have a nice view of the pool, from the balcony, but the room next to ours was overlooking the street and hotel Hicham, so we were quite lucky. The hotel is well located in the Gueliz district, lots of places to eat and shop. Hotel is in a relatively modern area with names such as Zara, Etam, Mcdonalds, Pizza Hut a 5 minute walk. The Djmaa El Fna Sqaure is a 25-30 minute walk. It was pleasent walk in the late afternoon when the sun was less hot. It is quite a straightforward route , to the square and Koutobia mosque but bewarned the roads can be very chaotic and you do risk life and limb when crossing these sometimes! However you do get used to these. Haggling is normal and be prepared to get ripped off! Practice does make it easier and lots of places sell the same things. We found Marrakech to be quite commercial and tourist based, lots of French Nationals appear to enjoy it as a holiday destination. We took an excursion to the cascades d'Ouzoud. We definately got ripped off paying 900 DH for a private car and driver. Initially we thought it was an OK ish kind of price. However when we got there, the driver colluded with a local " tourist Guide" and stated we should have a guide as he couldnt show us around?! On hindsight we should have clarified with excursion company what we were actually paying for as we felt a bit duped. The Excursion company had said that we would be driven to the cacades, but we didnt think this would mean just laft near the car park and expected to make our own way around the sights and village?! I dont think we should have paid more than 400-500 DH for two of us.

Ok here goes i will try to make this as much informative as i can. Location: Great Locaation in the middle of the new city. Staff: very friendly Resturant: i tried the breakfast only and enjoyed it, they make a nice omlet. Pool: acceptable, surrounded by trees, great for relaxation in the morning, at night they have a DJ and things can get a bit noisy, but it doesnt last last late, but non theless a nice atmosphere Rooms: TV 14 inch, with few channels, TV5 and the rest where arabic channels, only electrical plug was the one the TV was connected to, it was a 2 round pic plug in, so if you will nead an adapter to charge your mobile.. etc, no refrigirator, bath room is acceptable with plenty of hot water, and a bath tub, noise at night is minimal so sleeping isnt a problem, room is a bit old though, but it would have been acceptable if they had a refrigrator,no safes in the rooms but there is one down stairs at the reception desk, plus currency exchange although rates are high. thats it, good for low budget travelers.....hope you find this info helpful

My wife and I stayed in the hotel at the end of October for a 5 night break . The hotel is about 4 km from the airport and a taxi will cost you anywhere between £6 - 8 depending on how much you want to haggle. Its based in the new part of Marrakesh , which we found fine . It only costs £0.60p in a small 'petit taxi' to get to the old town and 5 mins drive so its hardly a burden. The hotel is clean but obviously its best days are behind it , bit like me ! The reception has safety deposits for free and I'd recommend sticking your passports etc in there to be safe. Bedroom was clean , plenty of hot water for showers , TV has one english language channel -BBC World. The pool area is a bit of a concrete expanse without much character but we weren't bothered since we were out exploring every day. Breakfast is pretty boring but fine to fuel up for the day - buffet of orange juice, croissants, morrocan pancakes, cake, tea and the strongest coffee on the planet . We ate out every evening and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby and also a major supermarket . We found one of the best eating places of the holiday just round the corner - its called Madame Porte cafe and serves morrocan food , pizzas at half the price of every where else and they tasted better . Turn left out of the hotel entrance , go to the mobil garage 200m away and take the left street , pass a flash italian called Trattoria and its just a bit further on your left - superb! So overall , the hotel is fine for a budget holiday , if you've only paid £300 quid you can't expect the Ritz . Staff were fine to us.

Cheap hotel in good location. We booked 2 double rooms, but were not given doubles. Staff were very unhelpful. The night before our departure we asked the desk to call a taxi for the morning which they told us they'd done. No taxi turned up as the staff hadn't booked it. No apologies given. We were lied to on several occassions. Cheap hotel but you get nothing more.

The location is not bad at all, you can find many reasonable priced restaurants nearby, tourism information ofice at 3 min walk, and several 24/24 change banks. **Here, some useful times / prices that we paid There are two kinds of taxis, the Grand taxi (up to 6 or 7 people without bags) and Petit taxi (up to 3 people) RAK airport: 100dhsGT -- 80dhsPT // 10mins ride Jmaa el Fna: 50dhsGT -- 40dhsPT// 8mins ride Pacha disco: 100dhsGT very late at night // 8mins ride Just to make you know... when we wanted to go to Pacha, we called at the reception to get a taxi. When we get to the reception they tell us that the taxi ride was going to be 250dhs (25€). Luckily it was almost the last day and we knew the prices pretty well, so we tell them that no. The taxy could leave without us because we were not going to pay that much for the taxi. So we said to the taxy driver that we were going to pay him 100dhs for the taxi ride and he accepted. Coming back from Pacha... the same story 200dhs... and we finaly paid him 100dhs. Room seemed to be clean, we had a nice view of a crossroad (we spent most of the time wathing the road and how the cars don't crash between them). Bathroom was ok, bring your own sampoo and bath gel, the water preassure was perfect (when there was water... and when the water was not yellow...) There is no fridge, but we didn't have any problem asking for ice cubes in the bar of the hotel. Breakfast is unexpected... orange juice, cofee, milk, croissants, hard bread, tomato, cucumber, and omelette that you can order. That means that you have a supermarket nearby. Bring your own Nutella (as we did) or whenever you like. And try to not be late at breakfast because all is finnished about two hours of the "official closing time". The hotel is enough good if you have things to do OUTSIDE the hotel. So, remember the important points. -Be careful with the reception desk staff (they want to get a comission of everything that you do). -Breakfast, so early, so good. -Rooms, grandma's covers and dusty carpets. -Cleaning staff were the most friendly of all... they cleant every day the rooms, they waited until we were awake to clean it and they changed the towels daily !! (It seems to be normal... but not at the Agdal ;) ) We were not expecting a rihad or a superluxury palace so it was enough for us. Good luck!
