Arrived back this morning from Founty Beach. I have to admit that I was pleased to be coming home - not there is anything wrong with the hotel, I was bored which is a first for me. The airport is good. In and out within a matter of 15 minutes. Guys in blue suits will try to grab your cases off you to take then to your coach but will expect a tip - he asked for £1. Founty Beach is approx 30 mins away and we stopped at 2 hotels on the way. When we arrived the cases were once again taken from us in reception. check in was quick. We waited 10 minutes in the room and our cases arrived.....once again a tip was expected. We took advantage of the safe. 175 dirhams for the week. (approx £11.50) The exchange rate is fixed in Morocco as it is a closed currency. £1 - 15.6 dirhams roughly at the moment. You are advised to keep the receipt when changing money, as you can be asked at the airport for this when changing money back to sterling. It is a criminal offence to take money out of the country, so BEFORE you go through passport control, visit the bank to the left of check-in. I changed back around 95 dirhams and got back £5.70. You can change coins back so don't feel obliged to buy loads of sweets in the tobaccanist as I did!! Anyway, rooms are spacious. Very clean. They scatter petals on the bed and make pretty shapes from your sheets/pjamas. One gripe - we were on the ground floor and the noise from above was shocking. We were just unlucky I suppose having (what seemed like) a 25 stone woman walking round the room above in high heels from 6.30am, moving furntiure and letting her children scream their heads off. Ask for a high floor if poss!! Pools are lovely. Nice and deep for some bombing. Food - I was quite impressed by the All inclusive. I have around 4 all inclusive holidays a year and have experienced far worse. Breakfast - Cereal / Toast / Fruit / Pancakes / Omlettes / fried eggs / boiled eggs / croissants Lunch - Chips / Pizza / Fish / Veg / Potatoes / rice / salad (more choice in the main restaurant but nice to sit round the pool bar) Evening - Morrocon style dishes (nice!!) / Chips / Pizza / Rice / Salad / Veg / Fish / Kebabs etc etc etc.........Surely something for everyone!!!! Beer is pretty weak - just drink more of it!! Spirits are weak too - tip the waiters early in the week and you get stronger measures. We tipped 50 dirhams to one waiter and he couldn't do enough for us. We gave him another 50 later in the week as he was just brill. The animation team are really good. They love themselves but they put a lot of effort into their jobs. Found a couple of shows a bit weird but the kids seem to like them. Our party consisted of 2 females and a 12 yr old boy - I felt very intimidated when we walked into town. The safest way is along the beach.....a good 30 min walk. We were hassled every step of the way. People asking us to buy this and that. Most of them went away when we said no, a couple of them called us -------. Nice!! To save the hassle of bartaring, we went to the Uniprix. As it suggest everything is 'one price' - fixed price. No-one hassles you. Lots to chose from - t-shirts, souvenirs, etc. You'll find it if you leave the beach by MacDonalds, across the square, cross the road and up a dirt track by the side of what looks like a zoo. Across the dual carriage way and another square and you can't miss it. That's the only thing that put me off - have a lovely time!!

When people book holidays they can tend to always expect "more" than they get/got. My boyfriend and I cannot fault the hotel in anyway at all. We went all inclusive and were not disappointed, the food was excellent, cleanliness of rooms, hotel grounds excellent, staff couldnt help you enough, maids were amazing we even had petals left scattered in our room!,beach perfect..Views from our room were unbelievable particularly the sunset. We would definately recommend this hotel and holiday to anyone we know, who is looking for a relaxing holiday, the entertainment is what you expect but made us laugh! Everything is closed by midnight so its not the kind of holiday for groups of lads/girls looking for nightlife! We took a walk along the whole stretch of beach and in our opinion the Founty Beach was the nicest hotel there. If anyone reading this is considering the Founty Beach for their holiday we would definately say go for it!! And have fun!

Iberostar Founty Beach, Morocco Date: 7th - 21st September 2007 Reviewer: Sally from Devon After reading a few previous reviews we were a little apprehensive about staying at this hotel but were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very clean and the staff couldn't do more. The meals were okay and there was something there for everybody, but lunches could have been a bit more varied. The one thing that spoilt it was that my husband, along with a lot of other British people, caught a bad stomach bug which meant he couldn't leave the hotel. Consequently we couldn't go on a trip to Marrakesh which I had been really looking forward to. This seemed to affect other people in the hotel, and even the staff ! After a meeting with our Thomas Cook rep he assured us that everything was being done to find the cause (it is obviously an ongoing thing) and they have had inspectors from the UK checking everything, but found nothing. We have since put it down to being a "Moroccan thing" but it did mar our holiday. The beach was absolutely outstanding (apart from the universal problem of booking the sunbed early every morning with a beach towel!) We would definitely return for a week's beach holiday.

We returned last night 24th March from a fabulous week at Iberostar Founty Beach, Agadir. This being our first visit to Morocco we were a little worried. Well we had no need we were a party of 6 adults (re-cycled teenagers). We had 3 seaview rooms and were all inclusive. The Hotel and our room were beautifully kept and spotless. The choice of food was excellent with some lovely traditional dishes that even my other half who is a meat and 2 veg man was more than happy with the huge variety of dishes. Drinks were unlimited and various brandys were sampled... The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you. Their are 2 pools one was heated 29/30 degrees but minimum depth 1.65m. The other pool was walk in with various levels but was freezing although some hardy soles were seen swimming regularly in it. Lovely private beach but we did walk both ways on the public beach with no hassles. The King was in his palace just round the corner and all the red flags were out. We had lots of fun going into Agadir in the Petit orange taxis make sure you agree the price before you get in - it started at 40 dirhams and we got down to 20. But we asked to be taken to the large souk and he took us to another carpet shop. We should have been more assertive and insisted on him taking us back - we passed it on the way but we found our way back to the amazing souk. We have been all over and we all agreed the Founty Beach is easily as good as some lovely caribean hotels we have been to. We have never gone back to the same place twice but we all agreed we would love to come back next year.

This is a beautiful property, truley luxerious! We only stayed two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. My finance is from Morocco and he thought this was a great hotel. The pool was great with lots of activities and music. The beach area is beautiful and after walking up and down the beach we realized ours was the best.

My husband, daughter and myself have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Iberostar Founty Beach. After reading numerous reviews about this hotel i was feeling very positive about how the holiday would go. No delays at all with the flight times, and going through the airport at agadir was very smooth, and the best thing of all was that the hotel was about 25 minutes away from the airport. On the way to the hotel, the first choice rep had said how fabulous the weather had been lately over there which made me feel extremely happy after the weather that we had been having at home! Arrived at the hotel and first impressions were great, very clean, smooth check in, and were told how to get to our room and the porter arrived with our cases about 10 minutes later. The room was very spacious, plenty of storage for clothes etc, and the bathroom was very nice. Beds were comfy, only one pillow per person but if you requested another pillow from the maid you received one straight away. The hotels private beach is right in front of the hotel, which is watched by the security guards. This stopped any of the locals being able to sell you items whilst on the private beach, however when you go onto the public beach they will try and sell you their things but they really are not a problem, are very friendly and just a polite 'no thank you' is all that is required if you are not interested. The public beach really is very nice, does get fairly busy with the locals. The only problem we had, was as our daugther is only 4, she couldnt really go back and forth to the water for sandcastles as in other resorts we have been to, but she did really enjoy playing in the water, and playing in the waves. We did have a problem on the second night when we went down to the buffet restaurant to eat. My husband had on a pair of smart shorts and a shirt and we were told that it was long trousers only, this after being allowed in our first night with him wearing shorts! There was a sign as you go into the restaurant, but there was no mention of this in the holiday brochure, and we could understand the dress code if it was an al 'a' carte restaurant, as that tends to be the norm, but it was just the buffet, so this caused a bit of a problem, and after all we needed to feed our daughter, we did get round it in the end, but it was fairly embarrassing to be told we were not allowed in to eat. And once in there you see other people wearing shorts anyway! Anyway, after that it all went fairly smoothly. The real disappointment of the holiday was the weather. We woke up on the first morning there and there was no sun! It was misty, overcast until about 12/12.30 and then the sun came out, but it did start to cool down again come about 4pm. This seemed to be the pattern every day. There was only one day where the sun was out all day. And one day we had no sun at all! Overall very disappointing, at times it was really quite chilly, as it is quite windy there too. The food was ok, breakfast was good, choice of cereals, hams, cheeses, freshly made omelettes, eggs, bacon etc etc. The food did get a bit repetitive but thats what happens on all inclusive, a lot of people to cater for. The freshly made pizzas were very nice. The hotel was nice, clean all around. The swimming pool is lovely, and a fairly nice sized childrens pool too. It was a struggle to get a sun bed both around the pool and on the beach. The evening entertainment - although not particularly top quality, they put an awful lot of effort into it, and it did the job, it entertained us all. Myself and my daughter ended up with upset tummies which lasted for a couple of days, which normally occurs after too much sun, not enough water and the change of food. However, as there was not a lot of sun, and we drank a lot of water, i can only assume it was the change in the food. I would recommend this hotel, would recommend maybe going a different time of year to avoid the misty weather, however i would not return to the hotel myself.

Went for a week's laze and this hotel was perfect for that. Had a lovely quiet ground floor room which was spotless and very spacious. Grounds were immaculate and the pools and sunbed areas were cleaned every night. Don't take pool towels as you can hire these for a returnable deposit. We went all inclusive which we thought was good value for money and found the food excellent - mind you we're not fussy eaters and enjoy trying local foods. I wouldn't bother with the a la carte restaurant though - we were a bit disappointed. Drinks are local brands which were ok, wine not brilliant but good enough to wash dinner down with. Staff very helpful and friendly, but it does help if you know some French as their English was a bit limited. Our tour rep was great too - Husein, from Panorama holidays. Agadir is not the place to go for the "traditional" Morocco, but if you want a week of sunshine and being lazy by the pool I'd recommend this hotel. Only warning is you do get a bit of hassle by beach vendors if you venture onto the amazing sandy beach (water too choppy for swimming though). The hotel has a private sandy beach area where the vendors don't come to.

Found the hotel to be clean, room cleaning service excellent. However there is not one English channel on the TV. The food is not good, for example cauliflower, rice and cous-cous amongst the choices for breakfast. Very little choice if any of English style food served at all meal times. It is situated at least one kilometre from any shops and nightlife. They feel a need for a security guard at the front and rear entrances. The evening entertainment is mainly a childish standard and needs a lot of improvement. At the time I went they had bulldozers and other heavy equipment doing work next door. Sorry but I will not go back to this hotel.

I read 3 questionable reviews prior to my holiday and decided not to read further but to go with an open mind. Verdict- it was wonderful. The journey to bristol airport check in and flight all went well. The transfer and hotel check-in went smoothly. We were greeted by friendly helpful staff and our rooms were spacious and clean. The food lacked a great deal of variety as all inclusive often does, but there was something for everyone and it was well cooked and well presented. We went to the a la carte resturant once on italien night and it was excellent. The whole resort was kept clean and we had no problems getting a sunbed. The entertainment team worked very hard and were friendly. I hope to return for a future holiday at founty beach so... here's to the next time!
