Had to change rooms due to the AC. I purchased a deluxe room, but there was nothing deluxe about it. Very standard room. Not at all close to where I needed to be. Not a great local for business travelers.

The hotel was centrally located for Wrigley Field. The staff was wonderfully receptive and very helpful and pleasant. The parking garage was easily accessible and reasonably priced.

This gem of a hotel is nestled in a quaint neighborhood that is convenient to many attractions. Aside from being mere blocks away from Wrigley Field and Boystown/Halstead Street, there are many great restaurants, bars, and boutiques just outside the hotel lobby. Those wanting to venture without taking a cab or the car will be pleased that the hotel is situated near two "L" stations (Chicago's mass-transit trains) that can bring you to great museums, shopping, and attractions of downtown in a matter of minutes.

My fiancé and I were on a five night holiday in Chicago and had hoped to stay at the Hilton on Michigan Avenue. Due to some unfortunate circumstances our reservation fell through only a few weeks before the trip, and we had no idea where we could stay- especially at the last minute. Thanks to the reviews on this page we booked at the Hawthorne Terrace and we are *thrilled* that we did. The hotel is charming, impressively clean and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful (especially to my fiancé, who is English and had a lot of questions about the area). For those who want imediate access to downtown this might feel out of the way, but there are two EL stations quite close to the hotel and we didn't mind the walk at all. The hotel is also right next to a large groccery store, for those that want to take advantage of the in-room mini fridge and microwave. I'm not sure if I've written anything extensively helpful, but as my experience was so postive (and I made the reservation after seeing all of the good reviews of the hotel on this site) I felt it only right to contribute. I can't imagine we would have had a better experience if we had stayed at the Hilton- and we paid so much less to stay here.

It served our purpose to go to a cubs game and was convenient to public transportation. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Comfortable, well managed and maintained with a competent staff and great location for anyone new to Chicago like my friend and I who were first time visitors. I'd come back!

The hotel is surprisingly quaint and comfortable. It almost brings about a country feeling in the city. The room was nicely laid out with a lounge/study area as well as a sleeping area. The bathroom had an old world charm with its cute sink and fixtures. It was nice being so close to where all the action is in Chicago. It would be impossible to not have a good time in that neighborhood.

Our stay at the best western was very pleasant. It was within walking distance to Wrigley field, and the staff was nice and very helpful.

The hotel was very clean, the staff was great and very friendly. The hotel was perfect for walking to restaurants, bars and Wrigley Field. The continental breakfast was more than sufficient. The only drawback was the double beds. Had a great time.

We picked this hotel because of it's combination of reasonable price and proximity to Wrigley Field (about 5-6 blocks). We flew into O'Hare and took the CTA subway to within walking distance to the hotel. Check-in was smooth and the staff friendly. Room was clean, comfortable, and the AC worked great - key for an August trip to Chicago. There was complementary bottled water - a nice touch and a decent free continental breakfast. The shaded area in front of the hotel is very well landscaped and has tables to sit and take your breakfast. There is a small gym with a Nautilus-style weight machine. Also there is a bike, stair-stepper, and treadmill along with a sauna and whirlpool. Hotel is also fairly close to Lake Michigan and I went jogging on the trail along the lake after just a short walk to get there. In summary, the hotel was clean and fairly priced. The staff was courteous. I'll go there again on my next trip to Chicago.

You don't go to Wrigley Field to sit in your hotel room. If you want convenience, this is totally the way to go. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was friendly enough (we didn't need a whole lot from them). Awesome location for just about everything. The neighborhood is one of the 3 most affluent in the city and pretty safe. I'd stay there again if I needed to go to Wrigley.

Best Western Hawthorne was clean, quiet. The room was a little small but the room amenities were good. There was a refridgerator and bottles of water. The location was great - within walking distance of Wrigle Field.

The perfect place to stay to go to a game at Wrigley Field. Also, just a short distance to the Magnificent Mile and other attractions in Chicago. Parking was reasonably priced.

The Best Western Hawthorne Terrace hotel is a very good hotel, very clean and very nice. It is in a great location for Wrigley Field and near the lake.

I thought the hotel was very nice and very reasonably priced. The room was great. The staff was very helpful. The location wasn't too bad. There were lots of restaurants nearby but, unfortunately, we didn't get to eat at any. It was close to the "l" train. We walked down to the l and the neighborhoods were nicely kept, lots of people out with their children or jogging. I would definitely stay there again.

The location was fantastic. There was continental breakfast in the morning. Three coffee shops were within 2 blocks. Great restaurants to choose from in area. Located in Lakeville, so it was really close to Wrigley Stadium and the nightlife that goes along with it. The red line was about a half mile from the hotel, and it took about 10 minutes to get downtown from the train. This was a very pleasant, affordable option for a trip to Chicago.

This hotel is great for going to cubs games. It is within walking distance of Wrigley field and is in a nice neighborhood with plenty of shops nearby. Also the parking fees here were about half of what it cost to park anywhere else.

A very nice little hotel, tucked away on a active street. It was extremely clean. The staff was very helpful. The decor was Victorian, I do not really care for, but the hotel had that "something" that most places forget. I will return again and again.

what a cool little hotel. it's in a very exciting neighborhood, lots of food & drink, and cool places to see. this place was so clean, my mom would be proud if my place was this clean. the staff was good too. they told us recommodations on the best of Chicago. Oh, the hotel won an award for 2006, "Best of The Best", me and my gilrfriend would agree. you gotta check this place out, you gotta check out Chicago too.

The hotel is really quite charming. However, if you need a place to park the only spot other than squeezing onto the streets is a garage next door, where you have to leave your keys with the office. I was there on business and had product in my trunk; there is no way I'm giving up my keys over night to a stranger!

tucked slightly off broadway the best western hawthorne sweets offers the best of the boystown area. you are minutes away from all the things that make this area great: the lake, the clubs, downtown. The hotel offers a luxury that you do not have to break your bank accont over but still feel treated like a queen. There never will be a lack of smiling people ready to help you out with your stay.

There's no better place to stay if you're coming for a game. The Hawthorne Terrace staff will do everything they can to make sure you have a good time while you're with them. They are pleasant and attentive. The hotel provides high-speed internet service using wireless connections; that's great but you might think about security before checking your finances with it. The hotel appears to be a renovated property, and the rooms are somewhat smaller than in newer buildings. Still, they are well layed out and don't feel cramped for 2 people. With their proximity to Wrigley Field and their dedication to making your stay enjoyable, this is a hotel worth visiting.

The best western hawthorne terrace is very convieniently located to a part of town I enjoy visiting. It is close to the train/subway and a very short cab or bus ride to michigan avenue. It is close to many restaurants and niteclubs I enjoy. The hotel staff is very friendly and courteous and accomodating, not to mention the hotel is very clean and bright. It is also quite and restful with the busy streets outside. I would highly recommend this hote.

We all found the Hawthorne Terrace just right for our needs. My brothers and I all converged in Chicago for my father's brain surgery this fall, so we wanted a hotel relatively near the C.I.N.N. (Neuro Institite.) The hotel is small & very quiet. We stayed in two hotel-suites which were lovely; the neighborhood was great, fairly hip, with plenty of shops, restaurants, services... The parking structure right next door was a real bonus... and very reasonably priced. Housekeeping staff was great. Some of the front desk staff were quite nice but unfortunately several of them were really rude & snotty. (we stayed five days and the rude ones never improved.) Too bad... their behavior blemishes an otherwise great place to stay.

This hotel was recommended by a local to me when we were on a road trip in 2000. We planned a 3 day stay in Chicago to take in the sights and a Cubs game as part of our trip.

Great location if you want to go to a Cubs game and visit the gay bars. There are many nice restaurants and shops in the area. About a $17 cab fare to downtown Chicago. The hotel itself is very dated and offers little luxury if that is what you are after. The desk staff do not go out of their way to be friendly or offer assistance. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and competent.

This beautiful hotel reminds you of being in Europe. The walkway is lined with gorgeous flowers, ivy climbing the walls, wrought iron umbrella tables in the courtyard to sit and enjoy the scenery. The neighborhood is full of culture and quaint restaurants.
